Event Description

The Las Vegas Steampunk Tea Society is going to be gathering on October 15, 2011 at 12:30 PM to ride the train in Boulder City, NV in full attire and persona. (We will not turn away any dieselpunks or people lacking attire/persona!)

We will meet at 12:30 PM to board the train for the 1 PM train ride. After the leisurely 45 minute train ride, we will return to Boulder City for the train museum, photographs, general walking the streets in our finery, taking in the antique/second hand stores and perhaps a late lunch/tea/dinner depending on the crowd.

Cost for the rides is $10 for adults, children are $5 and for the steam tots under the age of 3 it's absolutely free. This is absolutely a family friendly event! Money is paid when you arrive for the ride to Nevada Southern Railroad itself.

This is for socialization and for picture opportunity - besides by October we might not faint in the heat!

We currently will take RSVPs here or on meetup.com. You do not need to RSVP on both.

Some helpful tips:

-All cars are covered, but some have open windows so dress appropriately for the weather. Rain (yeah right),sunshine, and wind are possible be sure your garb is suitable.

-Props/costumes - this is a family event and we will be in the general public so keep that in mind when planing your attire. More information on if our painted nerf guns will be allowed on the train or not will be available closer to the event. As of right now goggles/face masks/props will be allowed, but let's help out our friends at Nevada Southern Railroad and cooperate with any requests they might have.

Nerf guns & props are permitted, although we are to comply with the railroad company's wishes if they ask us to put them away. Should be a great event.

As a note this event is on meetup.org ( http://www.meetup.com/lvsteam/ ) and Facebook ( http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=159736600768528 ) so the group is looking to be a little over a dozen strong. Over 25 and I am going to reserve us a private car!
