OctopodiCon is a steampunk convention in Oklahoma City, OCtober 5-7, 2012.
Consider it a steampunk "Hogwarts", where people can enroll in make-n-take classes, attend lectures and demos, and participate in discussion panels. These count towards earning a Freshman Pin in the quest to complete a novelty Bachelor's of Steampunk degree. Details, student handbook, and Course Catalog will be on our website.
When not in class, people can stroll the Promenade to See and Be Seen, refresh themselves in the Tea Parlour, attend concerts and browse the Art Gallery and Mercantile as well as meet favorite steampunk authors and people.
For steampunk anime-lovers, we have panels, classes, and we're working on the contracts for some interesting anime guests.
The Gears and Gizmos Dance Saturday night will be lit by Toxic Dragon and guided by DJ Bone.
Among our confirmed guests are Prof. Elemental, Peter Pixie, Ay-Leen the Peacemaker, Tom Smith, and Dr. and Mrs. Grymm!
Details as they come available are on our website: http://octopodicon.org

Comment by Cordelia Moontea on July 6, 2012 at 2:45pm The Kickstarter for funding the advance deposits ends July 19th. We have some nice backer gifts for those who choose to back this project: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1452812504/octopodicon-steaming...

Comment by Hilerey Amanda Mae on February 5, 2012 at 5:57am I've been out of the loop a little. Good choice on Peter Pixie, he is a fan favorite.
It's time to break out the old sewing device and sew up a new out fit.

Comment by Cordelia Moontea on August 3, 2011 at 7:36am James, you don't have to come up with an alias. A lot of people do because it makes it more fun, but some people have plenty of fun just being themselves!
Cordelia MoonTea is indeed an alias because when I started Steampunk, it was through a role playing game, and I kind of liked it. My real name is Noddy, and I do indeed hold degrees in phytotherapy (medicinal herbalism) and fairy tales. And the dog in my icon is my hearing assistance dog - he doesn't have a steampunk name but he likes wearing his top hat and goggles.
Our next Tea will be at the Belle Isle Library (5501 N. Villa, OKC), nad we're just waiting for the library to confirm the date and time before we announce it. It will have tea (both hot and iced) and be a class on the different types of steampunk teas, with library materials and other resources.
Comment by James Andrew Lowther on July 31, 2011 at 3:19pm Ahha. I'm learning. Well I hope there will be actual tea at the next one. Also been discovering today the steampunk music. I never knew this stuff existed but it's pretty cool. I like the Professor Elemental, and I'm especially enjoying The Cog is Dead band. This stuff is good enough for the radio.
So am I supposed to come up with some alias? I've notice a lot of people seem to have them. I assume your name isn't really Cordelia Moontea.
