Event Description

Get ready for an EPIC Retro-Futurist Convention like no other. TempleCon 2011 is gearing up for a weekend that embodies the spirit of temporal creation, featuring a plethora of games, performances, stories, music, vendors, and diversions that explore Retro-Futurist genres such as Steampunk, Neo-Victorianism, Weird West, Dieselpunk, Decopunk, Raygun Gothic, and Cyberpunk - all past visions of the future that are being re-examined in modern times and re-envisioned in modern terms. These are anachronisms with attitude, independence and idealism versus monolithic conformity and control, girded with the true grit and superior fashion sense required to go adventuring in the wasteland of civilization's decay. Mix in a healthy helping of elder gods and revolutionary mayhem, and you have a time-bending Retro-Futurist experience the likes of which no other convention dares to offer. TempleCon 2011 also features the finest in modern gaming, bringing countless RPGs, CCGs, Miniature Wargames, Board Games, LARPs, and more into an uncommonly high-class venue for the ultimate convention experience. Expect industry guests, live performances, panels, classes, vendors, demos, parties, and all sorts of other debauchery, and you'll know why people everywhere are saying that TempleCon is taking the classic geek culture stereotype and knocking it on its ear.  Join us this February 4-6 for the best TempleCon yet!

Guests at TempleCon 2011 include Dr. Grymm, Leanna Renee Hieber, G.D. Falksen, The Wandering Legion of The Thomas Tew, Ay-leen the Peacemaker, The Emperor Justinian of the Red Fork Empire, CJ Henderson, Kelley Hensing, Simon Berman, Jason Soles, and Nicole Vega, plus performances by The Gypsy Nomads, The Emperor Norton's Stationary Marching Band, Eli August, Niki Luparelli and the Gold Diggers, The Steamy Bohemians, Ocean Born Muse, Psyche Corporation, Faebotica, The Boston Babydolls, Tempest, Neylan, JayLee, Samara,Matkaare, Ms. Betsey Bombshell, Bettysioux Taylor, Serendipity Galore, Di'Ahna, Lunares, Rory Raven, Ameena, and more!  Enjoy ballroom dance classes, the Retro-Futurist Ball, a Retro-Futurist Fashion Show, Neo-Victorian High Tea hosted by Miss Kitty, our now-infamous scotch appreciation seminars, and The RKO Army's shadowcasts of the Rocky Horror Picture Show and REPO! The Genetic Opera.  And oh, yes, more games and panels than you can shake your tippling stick at!

Greetings from the New Dark Age,

We hope that all of our friends will be able to attend TempleCon this year. On 4 February, 2011, we will be hosting a panel on the future of Unhallowed Metropolis in Convention Suite #2, room #632.

Join Jason Soles, Nicole Vega, and Simon J. Berman as they discuss the past, present, and exciting future of Unhallowed Metropolis.

Those present at the panel will receive invitations to an exclusive antique cocktail party scheduled for that evening hosted by and celebrating Unhallowed Metropolis. Wear your neo-Victorian finest for an evening of debauchery, sin, and corruption.

Things are shaping up nicely for the mulled beverages panel. There will be mulled wine, Gløgg, mulled mead and a modified recipe of hot buttered rum I like to call Warm Apple Pie. Finger foods will be on hand to cleanse the pallet and everyone who attends my panel will get a limited edition TempleCon coffee mug.
