Assistance with a Steampunk themed Travel Project!

Hello esteemed Ladies and Gentlemen (and perhaps a few ruffians as well) 

I am posting in hopes that I might find some help with a school project.

For my cartography class we need to plan an entire trip (that the professor might
actually go on) to an assigned country.

I was given Italy.

Although a trip here pretty much writes itself, I would like input on Victorian or Steampunk-esque places or cities to vist that she might enjoy.

I would like the opportunity to share with my professor some things that I enjoy, and think she might be interested in.
I know the members here come from just about everywhere, so if you live in Italy, or have visited, I’d love some suggestions on places to research!
