Tritt on May 5, 2012 at 7:51pm For the record, he/she is a Gray Tree Frog (Hyla versicolor) or a Cope's Gray Tree Frog (Hyla chrysoscelis) -- these can typically only be distinguished by their calls and we hear more Cope's than regular frogs in our area. What makes Cope's frogs cool is that they are tetraploid, meaning they have four sets of chromosomes unlike most vertebrates that are dipoloid, with two sets.
