The Crossroads of the Aether

I'm bored, It's been insanely hot and I cant go out and do anything because of health concerns. Bright light alone can trigger epilipsey, heat can cause a stroke especially for those more sensitive to it and I only live with my brother. His only interest is technology, a technogeek. He doesn't care about anything else. Heat is not good for technology either. I don't know anyone in my area that is within walking distance so its really just me myself and I at the tea table. Heck I can't even have a spot o tea because its too dang hot!! 1 air conditioner for a 2 bedroom apt in this heat is unacceptable!! lol of course the only ac is in the technogeeks room.. leaving me to swoon like a wilting rose in a desert heatwave. It's so hot I cant even wear much clothing!! A lady should never go aroundin her undies its just wrong.. Anyhue I was lonely and thought I would post something. Go ahead and blast me away now..

It was hot in the city and she had no air conditioner, she used a fan and placed a bowl of ice infront(or was it in back? shrugs shoulders) and she put water on her bedsheets to try to cool down. I do hope the heat lets up and you become comfortable. (((hugs)))
Permalink Reply by Mademoiselle Suzette Cherie on July 7, 2012 at 12:45pm lol..I don't recall the older man being cranky, he was.. uhh.. wasss uhh... suffering from the seven year itch, so he kept knocking on Marilyn's(I cannot recall the name of her character in this film?) door and I think every time she opened her door to him, she had layered down substantially. teehee
Permalink Reply by Mademoiselle Suzette Cherie on July 7, 2012 at 12:54pm Lady Alice, if you have a fan try putting ice in front of it. Hopefully this will relieve some of your discomfort. As for the wet sheets, that would only work if your mattress is covered in plastic. I cannot tolerate extreme heat either, I fare better in snow and ice. I love it for I come from the land of ice and snow <-- lol..now The Immigrant song will be stuck in my head all day! gotta love Led Zeppelin ahh hahaha
Luck with the heat Love. We've been over a 100f here most days since mid-May. :{

In this part of the continent winter is a polite companion and toads are unknown .
Permalink Reply by Prof. Sebastian Fate on July 8, 2012 at 11:52pm Of course I believe you , only the ' Snowy Mountains ' are several hundred miles north-east of Melbourne . We do have seasonal snow resorts closer to Melbourne and in the 1960,s I was working in the central business area when snow began to fall . It did not reach the ground .
