The Crossroads of the Aether
Greeting tinkerers !
I would really appreciate any and all input on my question below;
I run a Steampunk Shop in Europe and want to add a section "Paint / Glue / Tools etc"
So pretty much what you need to "steam pimp" your goggles, mask etc etc.
If you have experience as a tinkerer and know for example what brass paint to use on a plastic watergun etc etc. it would be appreciated. This information will be shared with lots and lots of Steampunk fans.
Thanks in advance,

Hope this helps.

What do you use as a sealer ?

Permalink Reply by Octavia Weston on August 18, 2012 at 11:25am Minwax - Fast drying Polyurethane clear semi-gloss.
I have discovered that (alcohol- based) leather dye makes a good antiquing that can be re-worked after it's applied.

Permalink Reply by Eulalia Grace Hexham on August 18, 2012 at 10:41am I used cheap aerosol paint on Mr Steambike, and E6000 glue which is a rubber-based adhesive. I used it on my pistol, too and that has held up for two years now. Both figures are made of a range of plastics. The only disaster I've had is using the aerosol paint on a vinyl-type plastic, which never seemed to dry.

Permalink Reply by Shahbanoo Pantea on August 18, 2012 at 10:51pm I LOVE Rub n'Buff. It's indispensable in making things look antiqued or just like they belong to someone who is exposed to the elements a lot.
Permalink Reply by Master-Sgt. Orville Rook Hewish on August 19, 2012 at 1:49am I hear that it is very hard to get Rub n' Buff in Europe. Over here people use "Treasure Gold" which is somewhat similar. We are trying to get Rub n' Buff though.
