Since this is General Chat I feel obliged to start a topic for general nerd stuff.
*pets my Magic The Gathering black/blue main deck and side deck that I refined tonight* heh I'm a strange one I must say, I'm into all things Steampunk and all things "nerd" which includes TCG's like Magic, Yu Gi Oh, and the like. Comics, painting tabletop miniatures like for Warhammer 40k, Halo 3 (oh I can spend hours on Halo 3) and so on and so forth.
How bout the rest of you?

I used to read manga, but I can't afford to support the translators in paper format anymore. It kind of breaks my heart.
Favorite authors: CLAMP, Rumiko Takahashi.
Love Anime, have been testing out DNAngel, Trinity Blood and a few others. Series that I've completed: Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangelion, FLCL, Glass Fleet, Alice Academy, etc. I was buying the single DVD's for Tsubasa, but- again- my funds have run low and I've found myself wanting. So no more for me.
Other geekisms - Harry Potter, Vampires, Fantasy genres, Mercedes Lackey. ROLEPLAYING - but not with dice. *shudder* If someone wants to start a steampunkery roleplay in the literature or games forum, hit me up. I'm rusty, but willing to attempt it. I used to have an opening based around mad science.

It seems like a lot of people who are into steampunk are also "general" nerds. I've never specialized. If you specialize, you're a liability.
I used to play World of Warcraft. Then the whole economic thing happened and suddenly that just wasn't a priority. I miss it and whenever we get back on our feet, I'll probably pick it up again.
Comics are awesome too. <3 I recently got into X-Men and have been devouring all recent issues. Kitty Pryde and Illyana Rasputin are my current favorites. Ever since it was mentioned that they were penpals, their friendship has struck me as so adorable. I'm not one for writing fanfiction, but the girly-girl in me wants to write them panting their toenails and doing super-femme things like that. Anyway. Got a little carried away there.

One of my issues with X-men....Illyana Rasputin was killed by the Legacy Virus, and then to ressurect her...well i was not happy about that point.

Were you not happy about the manner in which she was resurrected or the fact that she was resurrected in the first place?
You could also argue that it's not really Illyana - it's her alternate personality / demon inhabitant thing, Darkchilde, that was resurrected. I usually don't like characters that have this sort of thing going on (coughJeancough), but I make exception with Illyana.
