Permalink Reply by Marx on April 3, 2012 at 4:07pm greetings all. Call me Groucho or call me Karl, just make sure you call me for the salubrious libations at your next Party where you paint the town Red. I currently abide in the Eastern Kentucky region.
Oh, and one more thing, more Punk in my Steam!
Permalink Reply by Noelle Rose on April 4, 2012 at 8:34am Good day to all of you. I'd be Casseopiea Noelle Cordelia Rose Magfennry... or Cass, or Noelle, or even Noelle Rose if you like. I've even answered to "Hey, you" a few times before. I'm a mechanic by trade. Not very good, understandably, but I am learning! But one day everyone will remember the red haired woman as the finest mechanic. Until then, it's just me and my steam-powered horse Archimedes traveling about for work, or following up on Lord Villnor's footsteps. I swear, that man gets by me every time. I think he knows I want his bionic arm.
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen
I am Captain Victor VonVoltin of the Mystery Airship SS Sonora Da Vinci. Adventurer, ghost/vampire/trickster hunter, investigator, time traveler, and doctor.
My crew and I travel through time setting things right while hunting down tricksters and vampires. Most have reported seeing us in the sky above North America, Europe, and the Middle East.
My real name is Victor and I was born and raised in Pig's Eye Minnesota. My interests are history, costuming, photography, and the outdoors. I listen to everything from tribal to shock rock and love almost anything that has to do with Star Wars and Steampunk/Weird West.
Permalink Reply by Suzy Q - The Scarlett Seamstress on April 5, 2012 at 8:05pm Good day to the Empire!
I am Suzy Q, the Scarlett Seamstress, purveyor of Fine Fabric Repair. I ride the aether waves in search of adventure and excellent tailoring, always willing to lend a needle or pin to those in need.
When I'm not neck deep in fabric, I can be found with my nose buried in a book - fiction, fantasy, romance, biography, it matters not at all - I adore the written word!
I began as member of the International Wenches Guild and stumbled upon the wonderful world of Steampunk about one year ago. Once I finished my first steampunk suit, I was hooked. I now enjoy the challenge of creating enjoyable steampunk inspired outfits from what I find in the thrift store, with minimal alterations. Fortunately, I have experience building corsets from my wenching days which serves me well and I am working on a corset wardrobe to compliment my varied steampunk wardrobe pieces. I am so excited to explore this new world of gears, goggles, tea and manners!
Permalink Reply by Dr. Roland Cabal on April 5, 2012 at 10:59pm Greetings my Sisters, Brothers, and Others,
I am Dr. Roland Cabal: practitioner and professor of the occult arts and techno-metaphysics. This form arose in the pagan woods of Ireland. After being "rescued" by a well-to-do Englishman, I was given the best education the dusty halls of an endless line of universities can reward. Professors seem to exhibit adverse temperaments towards a "child of the wilds" that can create fantastic devices of metal and magick, steam and sorcery, that put their own tinker toys to shame so it wasn't until I came to America that I was awarded the title of Doctor.(Doctorate of medieval metaphysics, earned in thirteen months at Miskatonic University) I then used half of an ample patronage, awarded to me by the Dean for a certain techno-metaphysical device to repel inquisitive wives, to secure travel to the town of Pittsburg where I reside currently. The other half, you ask? Lets just say that a number of my English tutors will be having a "blast" of a time when they open their post...
Sincerely Me,
Dr. Roland Cabal
Permalink Reply by Jennifer Oaks on April 16, 2012 at 8:00pm My name is Jennifer Oaks. I came into steampunk through my friend Britt, otherwise known as Dr. Magdalena Pleasance Liddell (hope I spelled that right). I've toyed with a couple steampunk persona names, but haven't really stuck to one yet. Recently I've had a short story published in Steampunk Tales issue #13. It's entitled "The Flowers That Bloom South of the Rio Grande". I'm pretty excited because it's my first time being published and it's my first time writing steampunk fiction. If anyone's read it I'd like to hear from you.

I am Gadgets, a craftswoman by hobby and trade, and a dreamer all of the time. I have always been interested in things that tend towards the anachronistic, and only discovered there was a name for what I loved a few years ago. Even then, I danced on the sidelines, reading and sighing longingly over lovely corsets and bustles. It was not until last year when I attended A-kon, the local anime convention, that I learned what a thriving community the steampunk culture really was. I attended workshops and lectures during the convention, and have fallen irrevocably in love. There was no more dancing at the edge after that. Now I craft my own jewelery, have nearly completed my own corset, and dream that one day I could be an airship mechanic.
Permalink Reply by James Murray on April 19, 2012 at 4:58am I am known by many names, and none of them are real. My current alias is James Murray, and I am hiding in the farther reaches of the world. Most know of me as The Anarchistic Gentleman. This label is incorrect, as I do not wish to bring down society as a whole, however I do like the sound of it so I have adopted as my non de guerre. My attacks upon the world of steampowered industry are legion. No, wait, allow me to explain myself.
I adore steam power, and all that it has done for the world. But I recently discovered a clean and efficient method of creating the heat needed for steam, using certain ores and minerals to create and sustain combustion. This research was derived as I could see the damage caused by the burning of coal in my past studies as a biologist. I have conclusive proof that one species of white moth has completely died out as a result of the trees in my home city of Elliurk, which became a foundry town, becoming so coated in soot that their predators soon overran them. I also have conclusive proof from studying past historical archives that the temperatures of the world are rising, which I believe could have much more far reaching effects than dirty trees, and which I assure you is caused by the pollutants we hurl into the atmosphere.
I took all my findings to the major universities, to the heads of industry and even tried to reach the ear of our fair matriarch. To no avail. I was spurned from meetings, cast out from societies, derided by scientists who are in the pockets of the industry men. Finally, one horrific day, my family was brutally slain as a message to me to remain silent.
And so, I decided to fight back. I am emboldened by the thirst of revenge for my family, but I fight on behalf of the Earth. You would not know my passion from seeing me on the street, I dress like any other gentleman you care to meet. But under the gentle exterior there is a superior intellect, a passion and aptitude for tinkering and invention, an acrobat, and a master of several martial arts.
So if you work for one of the Enemies of the Earth, and you find your boss has recently turned down a method of clean steam production from a well dressed stranger, then I urge you to look carefully into the shadows of the machine behind you. And then run.

nothing written is carved in stone even once it is...a work in progress is always good
