Permalink Reply by Brian H Harris on September 6, 2012 at 2:08pm Funny, I have just been studying up on steampunk the past week or so and have been trying to figure out how my interests all tie in, history, zombie hunting, sports. It seems that many have the same questions I have. As far as zombies, do most folks veiw them as tragic or nuisance? For example, if one were to form a group of steampunk zombie hunters, would that have a favorable veiw to it?

Permalink Reply by James Murray on September 7, 2012 at 4:21am You would need a band of zombies capable of conversation like yourself. Other wise every post would be "uuurgh, ahhhhh, brainsssss."
Permalink Reply by James Murray on September 7, 2012 at 4:27am No, no we could do this. Are zombies just brain eating fanatics, or do they have thoughts and feelings like the rest of us? What do they really want out of life....well.. umm... semblance of life? Will cat or dog or bear do just as well, and can they live beside us like the twilight freaks vampires? I know plenty of zombies, i think the virus took over my students years ago.

Permalink Reply by Brian H Harris on September 7, 2012 at 6:10am Ahhh, go with the angry half vampire story. The poor guy gets bitten but still remain alive, now his thirst for blood leaves him hunting full vampires. What would be a half zombie though? A leper who could not sleep and turns to cannibalism to ease the pain? It may work. Something about the truly dead would ease their pain, but what? It could work. I would gladly have a drink or two (three, four, five....) with one of these poor, angry souls after a night of clearing the streets of zombies.
Permalink Reply by James Murray on September 7, 2012 at 6:20am Or, just a story where people bitten by zombies retain full faculties of the mind, but their bodies start to rot. Then come in the usual schisms of people "we don't serve your kind around here, " and rallys of these, holding rapidly spray-painted signs "No coloureds zombies". once violence ensures, the zombie faction are bound to win, as they cannot die, and a zombie with a gun would be a fearsome combatant.
Permalink Reply by Brian H Harris on September 7, 2012 at 6:35am I like. It could work either way and your social aspect of it adds to it. But as far as a zombie not dying, I would have to disagree. Once a blade cuts through the neck and separates the head, well the rest of the body is easy pickings. Now as far as our fellow zombie citizens that we live along side of, the research and science that can be discovered to help both them in their advanced stages of decay and us for delaying disease would be interesting. Also the ultimate poor souls who would meet their just deserved doom are those who took the side of rejecting the unfortunate individual and then found themselves as a mindless creature.
