The Crossroads of the Aether
Permalink Reply by Colonel John Kenyon-CSA on August 16, 2012 at 8:45am I agree, a classic old school adventure story of the kind they just don't make anymore, but perhaps they ought to. Interesting personal note, I remember watching this with my late father, a career army officer and veteran of both WWII and the Korean Conflict, and he had a good laugh at the scene where Caine and Connery are training their native troops with the help of their Gurkha guide/translater.. He said it reminded of him when he had to train ROK soldiers how to use a modern anti-aircraft battery.

Permalink Reply by Mr English on August 18, 2012 at 8:21am Worth watching for the Wardrobe alone. Great story, and they don't do a bad a job as most movies do with Freemasonry. (Oh, it's still wrong on about a jillion points, but better that most!)
Permalink Reply by Master-Sgt. Orville Rook Hewish on August 18, 2012 at 8:33am Oh, yes I agree. The wardrobe is great, the time set is fairly accurate but there is a pretty big "goof" in the movie.
In the avalanche scene you see loads of ski tracks in the snow behind them. Pretty unlikely.
But anyway, I very much enjoyed it !
