Starting under $1,200.00 per is not too bad. Unfortunately this directly conflicts with my work Board meeting in Fairbanks so I have a snowflake's chance in Hades of getting time off then. Oh well, Fairbanks is surprisingly nice at that time of year.
I wish you all the absolute best adventure and please post lots of pictures.
I have sort of thought that such SP "immersion" events would make more sense than a traditional con format since so many folks have more clothes to show off and bands that they want to hear than one weekend allows. There are a LOT of cruises through our home and one town in particular, Skagway, is sort of stuck in 1898.
Again, best of luck, enjoy, and I hope to see more cruises like this.
Permalink Reply by Shahbanoo Pantea on May 24, 2012 at 9:37pm Too bad. I'll be in New Orleans the day of departure, but it'll be Norooz during the actual cruise, so fat chance of me actually doing it. I'm not one to skip out on the holiday since I'm the go to person in the family with the house, kitchen, and yard big enough to accommodate everyone.
Maybe next time it will be during summer, or at least after the 20th.
Just for comparison there is a Civil War themed cruise on the American Queen (which is a really cool looking paddle wheeler) but it starts at over $3K per person. http://www.civilwarcruise.com/
I admit that after touring the S.S. Klondike, which is dry docked in White Horse, I have wanted to take a paddle wheeler cruise.
Permalink Reply by Shahbanoo Pantea on June 1, 2012 at 1:26pm Oooo that's in my time frame to go if I can get back to the US in time. I like the boat better too.
I meant to show this for comparative pricing but enjoy and I hope that you post pictures.

Permalink Reply by Shahbanoo Pantea on June 7, 2012 at 1:11pm Hahaha the pricing was completely lost on me. **blushes** Sometimes, try as I might to avoid it, the spoiled Persian Princess comes out in bizarre ways
Permalink Reply by John D. on June 6, 2012 at 8:49am I've been musing this over, but I have some questions, maybe somebody here could give me an idea on how this works?
*Who is actually organizing the cruise? I would assume the ship was 'booked' for this, but by whom?
*Is this exclusively a Steampunk Cruise, or are the Steampunk events, performers, etc. going to be mixed in with the regular cruise ship-style events and passengers?
Permalink Reply by Boston Sprockettes on June 7, 2012 at 4:22pm How do you get considered as a panelist/performer? We'd love to participate!
