Dear Residents of the Buckeye State and Its Enviorns - Please consider yourself invited to the seasonal soiree I am hosting at the end of this month, in conjunction with a birthday celebration for noted American author and humorist Mark Twain.

I am entering the harlequin contest with my Steampunk book Gravely Inanimated. If you could vote for it that would really help me a lot. :) http://www.soyouthinkyoucanwrite.com/manuscripts/gravely-inanimated/ Thank YOU!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

A message from Mr. Jeremy Dubin:

FRIENDS, ROMANS, COUNTRYMEN, LEND US YOUR GEARS!

Hello! My name is Jeremy Dubin and I am an Artistic Associate at the Cincinnati
Shakespeare Company, where I will be directing the upcoming production of Titus Andronicus. This particular production is going to have a Steampunk setting, and will be requiring a vast array of costume pieces, accessories and other fun miscellany. Being a non-profit organization, our budgets are not always as lavish as we might like, so we wanted to send up a flag for assistance from the Queen City's Steampunk enthusiasts. We've come up with a bit of quid pro quo that we think is pretty exciting; hopefully you will too.
So, to begin here's what we need:

1)STUFF. Steampunk gear that you would be willing to lend us for the duration of the run. Things we need include (but are not limited to): Goggles; Various
Steampunked Weapons and Holsters; Shoulder Pieces, Arm Pieces, Leg Pieces
(Steampunk Cyborg-y, or just decorative,); Other Jewelry, Accessories and
Accoutrement. The show runs from October 20th to November 11th , and we would probably need most items a couple of weeks prior to opening. We will take
excellent care of said items, and anything damaged or broken would be paid for
(this is highly unlikely, but, that said, don't loan us anything irreplaceable-
if we broke it, my Jewish guilt would crush me).

2)MANPOWER (or womanpower- we're equal opportunity). If you have experience and interest in construction of steampunk gear, or experience as a seamstress (or seamster- we're equal opportunity), we can use your help in building this ambitious show.

Here's what we can offer in return:

1)TICKETS! Complimentary tickets to Titus Andronicus

2)A TABLE AT THE STEAMPUNK FARMER'S MARKET (we'll come up with a better name for it- we're open to suggestions, by the way). We're pretty jazzed about this one. For any of you makers out there who indulge in this as a sideline (on Etsy or what have you), or are perhaps interested in doing so, you'd have an opportunity to come and set up a table or booth in our lobby and hawk merchandise before the show and during intermission. We already have plans for a weekly costume night (where steampunk attired folk get a discount on tickets) so perhaps we might combine the nights, which would provide an audience particularly interested in your line of merch. We'd also be happy to plug your business in our program.

3)A WARM AND FUZZY SENSE OF WELL BEING. We're hoping this will be a fun and engaging way to celebrate Steampunk culture here in Cincy, as well as introduce some new people to that culture; and of course help our production to look totally badass. If you're interested, or have any questions please feel free to
e-mail me at the address below, or to learn more about our theatre you can visit
our site at cincyshakes.com. Thanks so much for your time, and I'll look forward
to hearing from you soon!

Greetings! I would like to cordially invite any unaffiliated members to join me on a new airship crew that is forming! The pirate zeppelin "Unstable" is preparing for her maiden voyage, and in need of crew! We are quirky, crazy, and in some cases downright insane, holding our rusty ship together by strength of will alone (with perhaps the aide of some yarn and tea). We can be found here on the empire, on Facebook, and also on our new blog:
