I just have to show this off.  One of my old fencing students and friends, Katie, just published a young adult SP novel.  This comes as a slight surprise since I did not know that she was writing let alone into SP.

In one place it says that you have to be a British citizen and in another it asks your nationality and just says that you have to provide your own transportation to England.  Enter, what's the worst than can happen?

This Alaska travel discount might not help as much but the Alaska Marine Highway offers a 50% youth group discount for groups of 8+ under 18 yo kids with at least one adult chaperone.  http://www.dot.alaska.gov/amhs/reservations_youth.shtml

It stands to reason that they would offer teenagers a discount since they are are going to more than make it up when teenagers buy food in the galley.

"Free videoconferencing service through the State Library system

Can have up to ten “endpoints”

Participants can participate by smartphone by downloading the Jabber app

Allows participation in bush communities

Can be used nationally and internationally as well

Cannot be used by for-profit organizations, but can be used by non-profits and not-for-profits"

In case this helps with any convention coordination meetings.

Everyone here is a member of Alaska Airlines Club 49, right?

Besides regular special fare offers membership is free and allows you to fly with two free bags (up to 50# each) any where in the lesser 48 so long as you check in on an Alaska Airlines flight first.  All Alaskans get three free bags in state.  This really helps when taking SP clothes.

It is possible that this ghost town dates back to the Pleistocene.  It could be quite an adventure just to visit.
