TODAY'S USS ANCHORAGE MEET UP...1. The meeting place has been changed to Sullivan arena on Seward Hwy. 2. There may be a chance we won't get on the ship. They've been turning people away, so we'll be there at 4:50 to get in line. Sullivan arena address is: 1600 Gambell St. You can access it at A st. and E. 16th Ave OR off of Gambell, which is the Seward Hwy.  After the ship tour, or in lieu of the tour, we'll head to TGI Friday's at 190 W Tudor Rd.

Sounds good.  I am on the last flight leaving for Juneau Saturday, such as it is.  I should have a rental car this trip.

I'm still trying to find out exactly where the shuttle buses pick up. The Mall at Sears is on Northern Lights Blvd and the Seward Hwy. I've got an inquiry floating in the aether about the exact boarding details, but haven't had a response yet.

I'll be in Anchorage a little early to pick up my DH at 5. I may be able to swing by and catch you as well. Send me a pm here or text or call to let me know where you'll be if you want to pursue that option. 414-1053

I have not made room reservations for Friday night but I should not have much trouble changing into SP to some level or another and meeting everyone.  Is the "Mall at Sears" the "5th Avenue Mall" downtown?  My standards for food is anything slow moving and not too toxic so either is probably fine by me.

The Borealis Exploration Society will be touring the USS Anchorage on Friday, May 3. Please join us, in Steampunk garb or not.
Around 5:20pm, we'll meet at the Mall at Sears, 600 E Northern Lights Blvd, right in front of Steamdot Coffee, outside, to catch the shuttle to the port. Wear sensible shoes and pants. Refrain from schlepping large packs or props. It's probably not a good idea to try and board with your uber cool nerf mod either. The Navy wouldn't appreciate such handy work! Everyone will be required to go through a metal detector and those 18+ must show government issued photo ID. The tour is free, but not handicap accessible.
We'll head somewhere to eat afterwards. Both Applebees and TGI Friday's are open until midnight. Anyone have a preference?

Greetings Captain!

My son has come down with a flu bug which may hinder my plans this week.  I'd like to get down on Friday if at all possible.  It's early am on Thursday now, so I'll let you know something by this evening.  Perhaps the Lady Joy, or any of our other compatriots would care to chime in?  I'd guess the lot are struck with a bad case of spring fever, only to be remedied by gallivanting in the woods. ;)

The only day you'll be in town for the USS Anchorage is May 3.  There are two other days before that also.   I believe the hours are around 2pm to 8pm, but look into it and confirm later.

I am about to fly out so my cell phone is 209-8143 and I am staying at the Clarion Downtown behind Benihana (which is my default eatery on this trip.)
