Hi all-

I, too, am new to steampunk, but very excited to begin joining events. It will be a while before I can gather adequate attire, however. So many pieces to find! I'm currently working on a character backstory, and wondered if I could hear or read others' to find out what kinds of things to include. And I would probably love to discuss just about anything you'd like to on the matter...

Hello All,

Apologies in advance for my first post being a plug, but I want to invite you all to an event I'm throwing! I'm a student at UT and I'm getting my MFA in Scenic Design and tomorrow I will open my thesis to the world. As someone who has long been interested in Steampunk I managed to find a way to incorporate my passion in to my master thesis. I, together with several collaborators, have created a faux-Victorian (steampunk) travel journal and it tomorrow it will be read by my good friend Rudy Ramirez. It's a two-night event. We'll be reading the first half Thursday and Saturday, and the second half Friday and Sunday. In order to experience the whole thing you must come for two nights. It's from 7-9 and there will be tea and cookies.
