Here's the Facebook event page for the Howard County event:

And the flyer is also now appearing on the HCHS website:

If you are going, I would recommend getting tickets in advance because the venue is kinda small and the last event I attended there sold out a few days beforehand.

Thanks for the notice about this event. It's right in my backyard and I didn't even know about it. It will be a good warm-up for SPWF.

I went to a similar event there in November, and I don't think "formal" means the same thing it would if this was a wedding invitation. This is definitely a steampunk costume event.

Thank you for posting that, My daughter gets the Historical Society's printed newsletter but we hadn't heard about the event yet.  We're in Howard County, so are likely to attend. (If I can come up with anything remotely formal for my husband to wear.)

If you guys are looking for a Baltimore-area steampunk event, I know there's one coming up on April 25 at the Howard County Historical Society in Ellicott City. It's a steampunk spring formal, and I know Eli August and the Abandoned Buildings and the sideshow Karnevil (both SPWF regulars) will be performing. There's no official website yet but I've seen folks discussing it on Facebook. Here's the historical society's website to watch while they're figuring things out:

Hi! My husband and I live in Middle River and attended last year's Steampunk World's Faire! We just had our Steampunk-pixie wedding on 21 February 2015 and while we both work full time, we do try to get to as many events as we can afford.

I should be quite interested in corresponding with any members who find themselves in the North Baltimore/Essex/Middle river area with an eye toward having an informal get together to plan spring journeys, events, and social happenings.  Anyone about?
