Comment by Tracey Williams Salbacka on Tuesday Just jumping in to say hi! We are in Monterey.
Comment by Brian Gardner - Swing Goth on April 15, 2013 at 12:01pm Tonight at Cafe du Nord, Walter Sickert & The Army of Broken Toys - one of the foremost Neo-Cabaret acts in Boston - finally has found their way back over to our coast! They're joined by Jaggery and Unwoman. Doors are at 8pm. Tickets are here: http://www.ticketweb.com/t3/sale/SaleEventDetail?dispatch=loadSelec...
Comment by Tinker on March 22, 2013 at 5:34am Greetings, TINKER is a steampunk action/adventure webseries in pre-production. Join us on Kickstarter: http://kck.st/10D694a
Comment by Mr. Gonzo-Deluxe on January 22, 2013 at 6:13pm Woah! I never knew about any of this because I thought this group has been dead for like a year. Swinggoth sounds like fun and I'm diggin the music! And Hopefully i can get out to the other events if i can get some fancy new fabrics to make their debut.
Comment by Trevor (TreeVor) Lenoir on January 22, 2013 at 4:52pm Nova Albion Steampunk Exhibition is another fun con that sadly didn't happen last year but is returning this year. This years theme is Steampunks in space which should be fun. http://steampunkexhibition.com/
Comment by Sybil Disorder on January 22, 2013 at 4:27pm Thank you Lorelei! We will be checking these events out, and hope to see you at some of them!
Comment by Lorelei Throckmorton on January 22, 2013 at 1:40pm Yes, welcome, Sybil.
Besides Brian's Swing Goth events in SF, here are some other 2013 wider Bay Area happenings to save the dates for:
Nova Albion (con), April 26-28, Hyatt Regency, Santa Clara
Maker's Fair, May 18-19, San Mateo Event Center - always a steampunk contingent at this fantastic geekfest
Clockwork Alchemy (steampunk con combined with Fanime con), last weekend of May, more info will be posted TODAY at http://www.clockworkalchemy.com/
Steam Federation Bay Area meets every Wednesday evening - twice a month in the East Bay (Alameda or San Leandro), twice a month in the South Bay (Redwood City or Cupertino) and the 5th Wed., if any, closer to or in San Francisco. You can learn about what's happening in the Bay Area as a whole, and the planning process for Clockwork Alchemy, by joining the fb group, https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/steamfederation/.
That same fb group also gets postings from active groups in Sacramento and in the Santa Cruz-to-Monterey area.
North Bay communities offer a Pirate Festival in the summer and a Handcar Regatta in the Fall. The Regatta, at least, is currently being re-envisioned, but keep an eye out for those. Neither is steampunk per se, but both are popular with folks who enjoy an element of creativity in their recreation!
Oh, and if you like the above, you might also like PEERS events - monthly dances with various fantastic themes. http://www.peers.org/. Most of these take place in San Mateo, on the Peninsula.
Comment by Sybil Disorder on January 21, 2013 at 8:34pm Aaah, I have awakened the locals :) I look forward to having soem fun with you all soon!

Comment by Brian Gardner - Swing Goth on January 21, 2013 at 7:43pm Hi Sybil!
There's still people here, we just kinda quieted down for a bit! I host a Steampunk and Boom Swing dance night every Thursday at DanzHaus, you can look that up here: www.swinggoth.com/sf/alt_dance
And we're currently putting together a Cross Country Steampunk Train Tour on Kickstarter here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/swinggoth/cross-country-steampu...
