Comment by Rev. Mik McAllister on May 21, 2012 at 7:59am I want to apologize for not attending. Between my schedule, some minor health concerns, and chaotica ad nauseum, I didn't even realize the date for the tour had come around. And I would not have been fit company, unfortunately.
Comment by Countess M on May 21, 2012 at 7:31am Good morning! What a treat it was indeed to have attended Sunday's salon. I feel EngineRmRaphi has written a most excellent description of the event, to which I can only add my own most heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Mathew Nash for so graciosly planning and hosting such a perfect afternoon's diversion. Thank you!
Comment by Shadarko on May 21, 2012 at 1:00am Thanks so much Matthew for being such a gracious host and tour guide today. I know we were all dumbstruck and in awe of everything you showed us today.
Thanks again!
Comment by Euphrenia McGee on May 20, 2012 at 10:23pm There are no superlatives to describe my envy, but I had to be at the final staff meeting for Clockwork Alchemy happening next weekend. It was nowhere near so exciting, I promise (though I suppose that's a good thing in it's own way). I do hope to see some of you there...
Comment by EngineRmRaphi on May 20, 2012 at 10:01pm The charming and gracious gentleman, Mr. Matthew Nash, held a genteel salon this Sunday, May 20th. For us who deign to label ourselves as SF/SP. Other letters appropriate to the setting were of course quite welcome as well.
We then departed for a grand tour led by Mr. Nash. To view at close range the fabulous costumes of the SF Opera in all their exquisite detail.
No amount of hyperbole would overstate this experience. The impact on the senses was no less than a Taj Mahal in tapestry, the Louvre in leather, a silken psychedelica. Many of these items Mr. Nash himself has seen to completion.
To Mr. Matthew Nash: Very definitely a doff of the top hat and and a bow from the waist in your honor, sir. Many thanks and huzzah indeed!
Comment by Cassandra Lee Ericson on May 18, 2012 at 11:16am Sadly, I am no longer able to make it on Sunday. :(
Comment by Lorelei Throckmorton on May 16, 2012 at 10:36am Local folks quoted and pictured in an article on Bay Area steampunkery in Oakland's The Monthly http://www.themonthly.com/feature1205.html.
Comment by Daphne B. Soler on May 15, 2012 at 4:37pm Hey there. I'm about to go to San Francisco in September, and I would like to met some SP enthusiasts around there to talk. ^^
Also wants to ask if someone knows a cheap place to stay during 1 month. =(
All help its very welcome. I want to work on SP the, btw. So please, if someone could help me, I will be very glad.
Thanks,
Daphne.
Comment by Euphrenia McGee on May 14, 2012 at 10:36am I dearly wish I could go, but I've got three conflicting events that day, including doing the responsible thing and going to the final meeting for Clockwork Alchemy before the convention itself on Memorial Day weekend. I'm sorry I'll miss you all on Sunday, but will I see you at CA?
Thought I had better add a reminder here too. Opera costume shop tour this coming Sunday. Meet between one and two at 206 Dore Street and we'll go from there.
