I think Ryan, we'd probably be able to 'take it away' if we show as an ordnance maintenance crew, and whilst 'cleaning' and doing 'regular maintenance' we could doubtless remove it whilst leaving a 'replica' in it's place.  What do you think Mistress Kate?

One wonders if disguising the cannon as a Doric column would make it easier to move...although some might consider using a Corinthian column, as most Chinese cannon are rather decorative in design.
OR.....since they often had hoisting lugs on the barrel, disguising it as a battering ram...would make a lovely parlour game!

*Smiles at the inimitable Widow, bows and opens a collapsible stainless steel snifter* Thank you Milady, I would appreciate that so much.  Yes, I had heard a rumour of the piece of ordnance you mention, and I concur, it would look in deed look much better on your promenade than getting all grubby at the gubernatorial grounds.

Ah, thank you Widow Next....that's just right.
Good thing I wiped the cup clean this morning!
I have considered the cannon mount, and while hoisting should be no problem (just another ship rigger's job), if you want to fire it we'll have to make a few structural additions....recoil, y'know.
Do you want a swivel mount, or are you going to fixed-fire it in any particular direction?

How kind of you Mr Woodruff. *pulls out 20 micron atomizer, adds drops of bourbon and a dash of scented oil. spritzes self* Ah, much improved. Now, who's going to the shindig at the Governor's Palace? I hear there's a particularly valuable Chinese cannon on display...under heavy guard, of course. But wouldn't it look splendid atop Widow's Walk? Bourbon, Mr. Woodruff?

*Ambles over to the dumpster and assists The Widow Kate Next re: Ms. Saffron*
Allow me to assist Ma'am, Saffron, do I need to remind you what happened when you ... oh, yes, right... that is classified...
*Turns to The Widow Kate Next* Hello Ma'am, good to see you again.

*climbs out of dumpster, addresses its occupant* "Thank you for the tea, Saffron." *pauses listening, swiftly pulls Lassiter pistol and releases safety* Now my dear, put that knife and map down. You cannot offer to steal the gun. You can see I already have it well in hand." *looks around* "Ah! Mr. Grimm. Your parched entreaty reached me in the Darkest Africa Rumpus Room *pours shot of Basil Hayden* Cheers!

I have found that the Walnut Duster at the Gentleman's Emporium makes an excellent Browncoat..
