How it all works...

Maybe you're a writer and have a great idea for a comic, but can't draw. Or an artist that lacks storytelling skills?

Or you could do the whole thing, but you just like the surprises that creative synergy brings?

Or you have a special little project in mind for yourself that you lack a certain skill or tools to complete?

Artist - Writer

Artist - Craftsbeing

Lyricist - Musician

Costume Designer - Seamstress ( Seamster? )

What else?

Interested? Put a proposal under "Discussions". Look at other people's proposals. Check out their work. Start talking.

I'd suggest doing a small project to start, and see if you work well together.

If it's something with commercial potential, there are sample collaboration contracts online you could use. And it's up to you to play nice- AetherPower is not the referee, only the enabler!

It would really help if you could tell me just how and where you plan to use the image in your newsletter. A format size in would make it easier to lay out a good image to suit your needs. For example will you use it as a banner or header? Do you want a transparent .gif to overlay onto the page, or a bit of landscape in the background? Give me as much info as you can and I'll see what I can do.
Oh, one other thing.. not to be a wet blanket, but if your going to use these images in any way that might be seen as a commercial venture please be aware of copyrights... they can come back you bite you in the ***. I can show the the teeth marks believe me...:0)

Now, if anyone knows if it is possible to place a .gif in an illustrator file and still have it work when exported as a PDF, that would be fantastic. Otherwise, as cool of an idea as it is, I don't know how to do it and don't think it's possible. It's honestly something I would have done before if I knew how.

I think an animated graphic of a shay locomotive, with cylinders and gears moving would be just the ticket!

A picture or graphic of a train, that is; unless Caudius Van der Graffe or some other Master Craftsman would be willing to whip one up from scratch…Now THAT would be impressive!

A traveling show is a perfect example wherein artists of different creative disciplines could collaborate together, (I believe we have a few traveling troupes among us, in fact.) Such an endeavor could involve musicians, prop-makers, actors, costume designers, artists, writers, etc. The trick, of course, would be to find the right mix of creative synergy and organize their efforts, (and it would also help if they all lived on the same continent…) my advice would be to peruse the members of not only this group, but of the Empire as a whole. Here are a few talented UK performers I am acquainted with:

Perhaps they can give you a bit of insight or at least point you in the right direction. And of course you can always start your own discussion here or form your own group to fish for others of like interest and post a link here. That’s what this place is about!
