Greetings to you all! And thanks for letting me join this group :) Look forward to getting to know you....I wonder do any of you in the UK sell your work? I'm helping organise the Steampunk area at Altfest, in August in Northamptonshire...There are stalls still available and more than 10,000 tickets sold...so it could be a great opportunity to show/sell your work. Just let me know if you're interested, and I'll gladly send you details!

Hello all,

I am very happy to join your group. So much to soak up and learn! I work in mixed media to create fun costume and props for fun. I have some years of theatre experience and the Steampunk life style is a good outlet.

Happiness to you all

Doc

Outstanding, tea mix.... I will try that. Thank you!

Believe it or not, to get a really good rusty crusty look( and inexpensive too), I've used ice tea mix! Brush on white glue ,sprinkle tea mix let dry then spray with acrylic clear coat. Of course there is a product that you can buy that creates rust in a two spray kit. Its called...Instant Rust and its available thru Dick Blick and other retailers. 4 oz is about 11.00.

I did a huge set up for the Harley Davidson museum and used it on some girders to achieve that look. Awesome.

Hello epic crafters of the Empire. I have a question for any one of you. When you are painting weapons, or gadgets of some type, what do you use to get that weathered, rusted look besides black primer and rub n buff?

Hi, my name is Sandra and I have just joined your group. I have been a crafter for many years and have always loved anything to do with Victorian era and love the Steampunk style. A friend of mine who also loves Steampunk is getting married and could not find suitable Steampunk style wedding stationery, so has asked me to design and make it for her, I am also making birdcage centre peices for her tables instead of the usual doves (boring) I am going to -try- and put crows inside instead but I am find it a struggle to get birds to put in the cage, there are plenty of doves on websites but nothing else, does anyone have any ideas. I will post my creations on the website as I go along and I am also hoping to drum up some business as well. XXX
