Would like to invite all Kentucky Steampunk Society members to the Bluegrass Cosplay Con.

The first Bluegrass Cosplay Con will be held on Sat. April 5th, 2014 in Lexington, Ky at the Clarion Hotel (1950 Newtown Pike, Lexington, KY 40511) from 10am - 9pm including Free After-Party.

The Bluegrass Cosplay Con is an all-inclusive event and we are really hoping to have a large Steampunk contingent. Advance tickets can be purchased for $20, BUT we are offering $17 advance tickets to members of Steampunk Empire. Just enter in the discount code "SteampunkEmpire" when you make your purchase to receive the discount.

If you are coming from out of town and would like a room for the night, just tell the Clarion staff you are attending the Bluegrass Cosplay Con and would like the discounted room rate. The convention center and hotel are all under the same roof.

We will have a wide variety of vendors offering goods, services, and raw materials for all your needs.

We are also interested in having a Workshop or Panel featuring accomplishing members of the Steampunk community. If you have an interest in participating in this manner please contact me here and we can work out the details.

I hope many of you are able to attend, and I look forward to meeting those who can.

regards,

Bob McKinley

The Pickled Brothers will be performing their Victorian Circus act at this event! Come on out and say hello. We'll also be at individual libraries around Lexington for the "One Book, One Bluegrass" event throughout April. You can check our website for dates/times:

For those who live in the Lexington area, on April 20 the Lexington Public Library is hosting a "Night Circus Gala".  The theme comes from the novel "The Night Circus" by Erin Morgenstern.  Morgenstern and GD Falkson have been announced as special guests for the event.

Victorian/Steampunk or book character related clothing is requested for the event.

Probably should be peace bonded so it can't be removed from the scabbard by anyone else but you.  I'd check with Claude when you get there; he's the man

Well I can't access the link to Facebook beacuse I don't have a Facebook page but the reason I was asking about the weapons was beacuse I have a katana that was steamed out for me and customized with a English rapier hilt but its a real katan made for display purposes it can't hurt anyone

Con starts "offcially" at 5 PM on Friday afternoon and closes at noon on Sunday.  The normal parties on Friday & Saturday night.  Prop weapons should be clearly that.  If you have any questions that need details from the "official" source, contact Claude Miles, who is listed on the FB page that I added below.
