Hi!  What time will the con begin on Friday?  We're trying to figure out when to target our arrival.

Thanks!

Sunday, July 15th is our next Monthly Tea, at the Midwest City Public Library, near Oklahoma City, OK.

And the kickstarter we have going to fund the advance deposits ends July 19th:  http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1452812504/octopodicon-steaming...

We will have a meet up at the OU Medieval Fair this coming Saturday (March 31) at 1:00 pm at the Water Paws tent in the center of the Fair. If you're in town, the Fair is free (but the University charges for parking at the Lloyd Noble Center), there will be lots of fun things to see and do - and you get to meet up with other Steampunks!

I am looking forward to the 2012 event. I know it will be most delightful and illuminating.  I invite you to view my blog 'Caught in the Gears' www.caughtinthegears.blogspot.com and look forward to learning and sharing more over time.

We've put the Student Handbook up at the OctopodiCon website.  We expect to have it available for the Kindle, Nook, Sony eReader, and other mobile devices in the next day or 2 through Smashwords.  It's free, and if you're attending OctopodiCon, it helps to at least skim it.  There are definitions, policies (especially weapons policies, since weapons are allowed), and explanations of how things work.

Next up is our Victorian Halloween Tea at Will Rogers Park in Oklahoma City.  That will be October 15th at 2:00 pm - there will be signs.

After that, we'll be hosting a Room Tea at Emerald City Steampunk Exposition in November, and a Tea in Oklahoma City - location to be announced.

FenCon was a blast!  I presented a class on Tea Etiquette that was well attended in spite of being held outside in the direct sun!  The Room Tea was a huge success as well.  We had over 200 visitors coming to have tea and cookies and learn about OctopodiCon - and we picked up a few pre-registrations.  I also sat on a panel on Aether Esthetics and helped present a panel on Plus Sized Costuming for a presenter who didn't show up - and got to do so with several delightful and knowledgeable ladies.  I spent a lot of time in the bar talking to people, found our Masquerade Mistress, and secured several new Visiting Professors - can't announce them until the contracts come back, but we have them!

Groupon for a murder mystery evening at the Stone Lion Inn in Guthr...

This could be great fun if a bunch of us coordinated plans and all went together.  The groupon is good for one year, which would be lots of time.
