The Creature
In the winter of the night
In solitary stands
a creature of earth and sky
Whose reach exceeds its grasp
In fires light that pierce the night
Heralds a day of atonement
When all is clay once more
The sea sinks deep in rock
The end will near
The Creature bows its head in silence
Wings
One wing of paper
The other of feathers
Flap one and you shall rise
Flap the other and you shall burn
Poet Meshugeh

Hear the noise
The children playing
The honk the screeching
Birds chirping, laughter
Poet sits in wasted room
With sea of paper looming tall
Ink splats soaking
The sunlight moving on
Poet sulks moodily
Draining his thoughts with pen
Wind thru open window sweeps
The sea becomes a fury Circling the poet viciously
Cunning quick cutting deep
Poet sits In ruin waste
Clockwork Angels Narrative
Clockwork angels
Heads of glass
Wings of brass
Hang flightless in the air
Hourglass is turned
They shift in measured stride
Blinking slumber from their workings
Their bodies stuffed with gears
That would fill their bodies with life
And now they dance
Up one comes with wings out stretched
The light alights on brassy wings
Glittering in the murkiness whirling slow to steady pace
Slanting down they glide flapping softly with a clink
Brassy murmur
Quickly one ascends
flaunting its gleaming wings
against the night
darting here and there they play
flittering, quiver, flutter shimmer
in delicate dance
The last sand falls
sluggishly they slow
the flapping wings sedated their heads hang low
Their dance has ceased
Clockwork angels
Heads of glass
Wings of brass
Hang flightless in the air

Comment by Mike Breza on March 15, 2013 at 8:41am The Oshkosh Public Museum is excited to announce that Meinert Hansen of Montreal, Quebec, Canada will be lending to the museum for the steampunk exhibit a good number of his concept artwork, digital renderings and production blueprints. Meinert is a concept artist & illustrator for film, television and games. You will find a full CV of his on line as he has a huge wealth of experience. Of interest to the steampunk community is his work on the 2002-2003 Myst 4: Revelation, one of the sequels to the Myst game series. The museum will display examples of his work from that game.
Also to be seen in Oshkosh will be examples of his blueprint renderings from The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne, a SciFi Channel series back in 1998-2001. More of his work will be display such as the digital created artwork of Meinert’s interpretation of the Nautilus submarine and crew members in diving suits. That work is shown here. Please remember that this is copyrighted work of Meinert Hansen and that we use it here with his permission. Check out his blog here: www.meinerthansen.com and his new web site here: www.fictionscience.com

A pleasure to be amongst you. Please take a stroll to my little Etsy shop and see if there is anything you fancy. I have some Steampunk inspired pieces made from antique watch parts and clocks. Little Fascinator hats and I also take on commissions.
I will be adding some Steampunk artwork soon.

Comment by Faolon De Louzac Silverflame on March 2, 2013 at 12:43pm I greatly regret i received an Email this morning that the AMA-CON people do not feel that Steampunk Bellydancers are not realvant to AMA-CON and are not going to be allowed to perform. This comes as a bit of a shock after they Requested we retrun after our performance last year. of course the Airship still has it's booth for the con. However as ALL of the dancers are Ironsharks and we work very hard on our shows we are all going to be a bit crushed by this. I am thus suggesting the creatation of a 2cd Steampunk convention in Amarillo set up and Run by the Steampunk community and funded by kickstarter and run by steampunks for steampunks.-- Navigator Faolonhawk
