In the first half of our next show we will be discussing how to research and form a Steampunk persona as well as if it is important to do so. In the second half of the show we will be exploring steam powered transportation during the Victorian era, in Steampunk literature, and in modern Steampunk. We are also hoping to have a surprise interview with an awesome author, as well as our regular features such as; 'This Week in Steampunk', Drink du Jour, recent events, upcoming events, and of course some of our favorite Steampunk music! See you there!

Hey Brian and everyone else,

Welcome to Sounds of Steam. We are building up for our first show on October first, but I am curious what topics would you like to hear about on a Steampunk show?

 Hello, my fellow Steampunkers! :-)

I hope you don't mind that i post this here, but... Got a question for you all:

Would anyone be willing to go to the KC Ren Fest (in Kansas City, Kansas) this year (Sept-Oct) if you know there was a Doctor Who wedding (with steampunk flair) there, and that with all the S.P.ers showing up (even if they're not interested in seeing the wedding) might encourage the owner of the Ren Fest to incorporate a S.P. weekend there?

We want to accomplish two things with our wedding there this year:

1)(Obviously, to have a fun Doctor Who/Steampunk wedding)

And 2) to work with a few other employees at the Ren Fest in trying to convince the owner to have S.P. weekends there from this year on, and with that, to hopefully help bring more S.P. conventions, etc HERE to Kansas City, etc.

So FEW people know about Steampunk, and yet soooooo many of them IMMEDIATELY fall in LOVE with it as soon as they know what it's all about! If enough people show up (whether for the wedding, or just for fun) in S.P. attire and all, it might help change the owner's mind about having the S.P. weekends, etc!!!

Hello everyone,

My performance duo, Lunares, will be performing this Friday at TempleCon in the Rotunda - and we're followed up by the amazing Eli August!

Our performance will involve hand drums, accordion, classically trained mezzosoprano voices, harmonies, and beautiful Romantic music, as well as some modern classical and contemporary. If you're attending TC this weekend, we hope you'll stop in to the Rotunda to relax with us for a little while before diving back into the fray! We'll be performing from 3-4pm (and I will be giving a solo performance on Sunday afternoon at 2 in the Rotunda as well).

See you there!
