Here's hoping everyone had nice holidays.

I think the Facebook page is an excellent start, I hope to make it to at least one of the conventions this spring, probably the one in Roanoke.

Or perhaps a facebook page might appeal to a wider audience

I invited everybody I could find that had Lynchburg listed as their location. I have several friends that are into steampunk but they never joined the empire. If i remember correctly there is a convention in Roanoke in April and one in Greensboro in march. Either of those would be the perfect place to recruit people.

It would appear so sir, I was hoping some of the others would make an appearance if they saw some activity going on. Being creator of this group, do you have any way to contact any of the other members besides the group page? As for more involvement we might have to think about old schooling it - some flyers at different places - Baines in Appomattox, maybe White Hart; maybe some info on Craigslist? You would think with all the historical interests around town there should be some people who would be interested. Maybe it is hard to find the Empires website, I myself kind of stumbled upon looking for something else.

It seems that the two of us are the only ones active on this list. any ideas about how to get more people involved?

I think the White Hart might be a good choice, I hear they have Celtic night every 1st and 3rd monday. I know about third shift, I was on it for over a year and a half before the company moved me to second. If mornings work out better for most people I would be down with that. Which establishment would be more central for anybody interested? If B&N would be more convenient, that would be fine too.

Well, for myself, I work third shift 5-6 days a week, so my daylight hours are almost always open, excepting wednesday nights and every other tuesday night. As for venue, perhaps a local book or coffee shop. Perhaps the White Hart down town, or Mr's Barnes and Noble's establishment in Wards Valley.
