Performer pay supplemented by donations?

I haven't seen this addressed in any SP performer groups, so since I'm the new kid on the block I'll be the first(?) to ask directly & hope someone will shed some light on this for me (and maybe…Continue

Contracts/Performance Agreements

I thought this should be a stand-alone thread to talk about contracts - the good, the bad, the ugly, and everything in between. I hope we can share information on how our contracts are set up, things…Continue

Performers: What makes you Steampunk?

Started by J. Pat. Last reply by Nicholas Clifford Sep 22, 2011. 4 Replies

This question has been posed to me a few times, and I feel flummoxed each time, particularly when it's asked after I (thought) have already answered/explained it. As a performer in mundane life…Continue

Hello fellow performers.  I wanted to announce our upcoming theatrical presentation, "The Alembic:  An Alchemical Steampunk Fantasy" which will enjoy its premiere at this Chicago Fringe Festival this month.  Alembic Event on Steampunk Empire

We also have an Indiegogo Campaign for "The Alembic" as a fundraiser.  We would appreciate your support in getting word out to any interested parties who may be able to see the show, or support our work.

Thanks for your efforts here, and I look forward to participating more in the discussion.

Ruya - how would we create the calendar that others could add to and that could be easily accessed, and yet would still have all the other info, like whether or not the venue pays performers?

Jon- I'd like it to be a living document that folks can add to as time goes on.

Or just upload it as a pdf.

If you need somewhere (meaning, a server) to host it, I can provide that.

What about a Facebook group (not a page, but a group)?  Files could be uploaded/posted for group members to access.  Group members wouldn't have access to change directory info, but updates could be made by admin on a monthly basis.  Might be a good way to reach performers who don't frequent SP forums, as well.

We have a pretty comprehensive list of steampunk events at this point; we could use more detail on whether or not they pay and other details for performers. We also need to find a way to post this info so it's accessible to steampunk performers. Any ideas on how to do that? I'll send the list to whomever has a great (and free, practical) idea on how to get it posted for all to view and add to ...

I'll be glad to work with someone on putting together a list/directory of venues/cons/events, their websites, base city, & who they compensate (and if they compensate).
