Well, would anyone else like to participate?

We have a setting, a potential protagonist, a curious antagonist and an interesting mcguffin.

[ Oh yeah, my character carries weapons.  And Aloysius is a good enough way to refer to me.  Some people like Al, and some like P.A., and others simply P.  I usually refer to my character in story telling as 'Regnad', but when dealing with other 'characters' I insist on being called 'Mister' to people I do not consider my personal friends. Politeness and courtesy, and all that.   Now, let's see if we can do something with this. ]

Regnad puts his Regnad-Sprague Model 1905 and 1906 gasfire automatic pistols back into their respective shoulder holsters, and examines his situation.   He relaxes, and mumbles to himself aloud, as he usually does.

"So this is a first class compartment on British Rail...  Very nice.  Now just what is all this?  It's not like I haven't heard disembodied voices in my head before, but they've never been so specific to the current situation!  And just who was that creepy old man who showed up on the platform just as the train departed?"

Regnad's thoughts are interrupted as the door to his compartment slides open....

A steady rhythmic click echoed across the empty expanse of the station its source unidentifiable.

*P. Aloysius Regnad, I hope you do not mind that I refer to you as Aloysius in this post?*

Aloysius danced a few paces backwards, this not only opened his sight lines but also conveniently placed his back against the solid brick wall. The sound of metal on stone approaches without revealing itself, it's steady, unhurried nature slightly unnerving him.

SKREEEE! The tanoy bursts into life again and Aloysius flinches at the unexpected cacophony. "The the next next train train arriving arriving at at platform platform 6 6 6 is is the the 1837 1837 direct direct service service to to ....your salvation!"

The last part of the announcement whispered directly in his ear. Aloysius spun on his heel two pistols appearing as a blur in his hands trained down both ends of the empty platform, except the platform was no longer empty. A train sat at rest alongside the platform steam quietly rising into the night. Five carriages connected to the train showing no light in their windows and no sign of life inside.

The ominous click, which had ceased momentarily,  resumed but now there was a sense of urgency in its tone and it sounded much closer than before.

The first class carriage directly opposite Aloysius suddenly came into light and a door swung open. "....get in..." Once more the voice whispered while the train let off a tremendous whistle and slowley started to pull out of the station. It took but a moment for Aloysius to make the call and leap across the platform into the carriage,  its door snapping shut on his heels. He continued his dive into a roll and came to his feet facing the platform as it flashed by, both pistols leading. The last thing he saw as his carriage left the station, was an elderly gentleman dressed all in grey wearing smoked lens glasses and a rueful smile on his face, raise his grey cane to his grey hat in a mocking salute.

Aloysius collapsed onto the rich black velvet covered seat before realising he was drenched in sweat, this was not how he thought this day would end!

*Forgive me co-opting you into this post, I had read your previous post and suddenly this was in my head. I do not know if you carry arms, or even agree with doing so, a possible twist that may be explored possibly?

[ Hello.  The key in the picture is apparently a copy of a genuine item still in use by British Rail.  I got it with a bunch of 'antique looking' keys I bought from Amazon.  They're made in China.  Why this one is part of the collection, I don't know.   What can I say?  Props inspire me! ]

An American fellow is standing on the platform.  He is dressed in a new wide brimmed black hat adorned by a black band with shiny oval silver conchos, black jacket and trousers, white shirt, red vest, and narrow black western necktie.  He has long, dark brown hair tied back in a ponytail, and blue eyes behind metal rimmed glasses.  He pulls a key from his pocket, and scrutinizes it while musing on the announcement.

"Temporal line?  I wonder if something to do with that is what this key fits?"

*The tanoy comes to life with the sounds of creaking and a dry scratchy retching followed by a hollow thump. A distorted screech fills the air for a few agonising seconds and then, silence.*

"British Rail would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused to members due to the current delay in responses.  This has been due to engineering work on the temporal line. We assure you that normal service will at no point resume"
