The Ships of the IAPS-

S.M.S. Zepherus- A Prussian commissioned ship under the command of Kapitan Reinhilde Octavia von Grelle. The Zepherus is wholly staffed by women (what with all of the imperialism, most of the boys are off fighting on the fronts) and has become one of the most feared anti-piracy units.
Personnel: Olivine Drab- Executive Officer, Red Czerwony- 'diplomicist', Helena Montgomery- gunner and gadgeteer, Annelise von Tross- demolitions expert, Major Nom- ship's cook, Pippa Lumet- powder monkey and all-around scamp.

S.M.S. Halcyon- The brother ship to the Zepherus, often patrolling the more untamed areas of the supply lines. Commanded by Captain Marrakesh Thibodeau.
Personnel: Graf Georg von Ziger- Executive Officer and Captain in the Imperial Sky Hussars, Demetrios Anargyros- navigator, Mr. Fogg- ship's engineer, Jonathan Quinn- gunner, Hermann Einstein- ship's doctor, Mr. Tree- ship's carpenter and lookout.

What type of airships do you prefer and what do you see as their strengths and weaknesses?  The only types we privateers among the Covenant of the Kraken can usually manage are those small enough to…Continue

Greetings! I am Admiral Ramon Leon del Mar of the Covenant of the Kraken. We are neither traditional military (in most centuries anyway) nor strictly private or mercenary as we are a confederation of privateers (some of whom time travel) that typically look for the least obnoxious powers that be in a given time line and convince them to give us letters of mark. If they get too obnoxious, we wander off and find a better patron. During times of peace; however, we routinely contract to a variety of governments or private shipowners as a security company that protects ships from piracy one ship convoy at a time. As such, it makes sense for me to attempt to develop good relations with your group and to congratulate you on establishing an organization that has been sadly needed to bring balance to a world otherwise overrun by almost nothing but airship pirates lately. Of course we don't go out of our way to hunt them all down directly as that would destroy the need for our peacetime occupations, but we do work hard and are very efficient at preventing piracy of our contractors ships. So far we have lost less than 1% of contracted shipping to piracy even from those pesky airship pirates that cheat using fancy ray guns. We keep "special weapons" locked away most of the time as we don't want to attract attention or upset the time line, but we carry very effective toys when they are really needed. Happy to make your aquaintance!

Well then it may seem you only have one engineer, so then i extend an offer of work. If your ever in the Chicago area give a shout to Hanger 49 and the S.S. Serenity. We also do in-flight repairs.

I've been surprised at how "quiet" it is on many of the forums/groups on Steampunk Empire (presumably one of the apexes of SP fandom) often with weeks between postings. I for one am willing to join any enterprise focused on spreading awareness of/excitement for steampunk.

Yes, we'll take Cavorite over cannon anyday. Also, we aren't wealthy enough to just go around rescuing everybody for free. Got to do something to keep the tanks full and the brightwork polished.

We are willing to undertake mutual assistance agreements, with the proviso that the assistance does not violate our agreement with H.D.P. Roterwurm. This restriction only applies to those outside the northern half of the western hemisphere.

Yes, I can just imagine the difficulties in your crew surviving dispatch to disaster sites around the world by Verne cannon...

Yes, we considered those type of rescue missions for a while. We even started working on a hidden base on Kellys Island, but the palm trees all die when it gets cold. We also couldn't get the dratted trees to lie down on command. Muskrats took over the swimming pool, and got very angry when we moved it. When we looked at the operating expenses for a fleet of 4 or 5 additional vehicles, all completely different, we just threw up our hands.

Frankly, it is a miracle that a rag-tag crew can afford one vehicle with so many advanced features. Never could have done it if we hadn't rescued the Evil Doctor, and in desperation he signed a binding agreement.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot 1? I would have expected Tango Bravo 2, but only if she was a part of an international rescue and aid squadron. And painted green...
