TheSteamtopian Cavalcade returns to the parlor of the Electric Maid onSaturday night, 15 January, 2011. Featuring the musical talents ofEliAugust, the evening promises an extraordinary acoustic performance by an artist very much in tune with our times. Raw, moving, and sincere, his inspiring works are sometimes dark, butnever completely devoid of redemption. Eli is truly a poet for times past as well as present.
But wait, there’s more. The evening will begin with a presentation by celebrated illusionist andliar Desmond Pinchbeck Devereaux. Also known to many of his fans and admirersas Brian Wendell Morton, ((this, accordingto his file at Interpol,)) He will amaze you with feats the likes ofwhich inspired Baltimore Sun Columnist Dan Rodricks to remark, “…I haveseen him perform in the presence of the Amazing Kreskin and turn the AmazingKreskin green with envy.”
Shows are at 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the door. Mild drinks and light concessions will beavailable for purchase. Alcoholicbeverages will not be for sale, but guests are encouraged to bring said spiritsif they so choose. In other words, thisis a “bring your own bottle” event.
Free parking will be available across the streetat the Takoma Park Metro Station.
