As a token to a fellow enthusiast of hot peppers, I wrote this verse in the spirit of EAP. I hope he would have approved.

The Gothic Chili

Through the dusty ages tales are told

Of mysteries that loom dark and cold.

But one spectre remains, fiery and bold.

In culinary tomes from 'Cisco to Philly

Mild-mannered morsels pale before the Gothic Chili.

Let the Genteel barter and simper with seasons tasty and quaint.

Partake of the fiery fruit, tears will flow and palettes faint.

In the throes of pain screams the scorched throat,

Gasping for the golden air to keep lungs afloat,

"Harken to my pleas for water enough to fill a moat!"

Yet the Gothic Chili stays remote and aloof,

As the internal fires leap to the roof.

But as the endorphins arise with searing pleasure,

You begin to smile darkly and say, "Double my measure!"

And thus begins the descent to the dark side,

A hunger for heat reaching far and wide,

The Gothic Chili beckons, salsa or deep fried.

Although the season of All Hallow's Eve is now long past, I decided not to crate away my ravens and other Poe-ish  items, but keep them out in full view to enjoy and be inspired by this country's greatest contributor to literature.

"Won't you sit, Sir?"

"Alas, I cannot."

"Perhaps have some tea?"

"It would be as water running through a sieve."

"A walk by the river, then?"

"To have you alone."

"I object to your manner sir."

"I'm Death, and you're done."

"Descent Into Madness" from the album "Shadow of The Raven" by Nox Arcana (www.NoxArcana.com). Delve into the haunted realms of Edgar Allan Poe, as Nox Arcana pays tribute to the classic tales of the literary master of the macabre with a lush musical tapestry of Victorian elegance and Gothic nightmares. This dark soundscape of ghostly melodies, mournful dirges, eerie sound effects and ominous orchestrations is accompanied by Joseph Vargo's lavish artwork depicting Poe's classic horror tales, and even offers fans a hidden "gold bug" riddle

[Unfortunately, after watching several reviews Of this film and listening to some film critics' reviews they have reached the conclusion that this film just morphed into a film full Of cliches...The running gag Of some reviewers is if they had to re-watch this film their respond would be... Nevermore. ]
