Comment by The Chocolatist on July 22, 2012 at 1:58pm The brass rings on the end are just decoration. I needed a nice finish and this old rings fitted perfectly. For all my projects I use stuff from junk yards. These rings were part from old bakery machines.... Thanks for the Link to James N. Duxbury's kaleidoscopes. I didn't know this website - very nice stuff!!!
Comment by Ronald Brewer on July 19, 2012 at 10:00pm What was the reason for the brass rings on the end? Does it turn or do you rotate the entire kaleidoscope to change the image that's view? Where did you find the brass rings? Is that a found object or purchased? Then again you might have made the rings? Have you seen James N. Duxbury's kaleidoscopes? I hope your son enjoys your work! I will check out your web site.

I used three mirrors, which my little son became as a present from his kindergarten teacher. May she bought them somewhere…..
More pictures concerning the construction you see on my website www.thechocolatist.com and on http://www.instructables.com/id/The-Steampunk-Kaleidoscope/
Cheers
