Looks to be quite the merry band of scoundrels, to me.
And I only disagree with Felix on the timing. I say raise a parley banner, and then act shocked when there's a detonation, and try to help them. Loot what you can carry discreetly, while you help them get back to their feet. And what you can't loot, sabotage all over again.

The best defense is a series of explosive charges placed amongst the enemies munitions sometime during the pre battle bustle and detonated as the first flag is raised in signal of commmencement.
