Kara Ashikaga

Kara Ashikaga translated a number of Vitruvius Pike stories into Japanese, which appeared in Shōnen Sekai ("The Youth's World") starting in 1898. Although he started with the story "Vitruvius Pike and the Galvanic Assassins", he titled his series "The Clockwork Chambermaid" based on a later Vitruvius Pike story because in his interpretation of the stories he reimaged the character of Aimi Somerton as the main protagonist.
