Profile Information

Greetings! I live in Melbourne, Australia and am a dabbler in steampunk. Work, toddler and commuting take up most of my time, but in those quiet moments when I can relax I am soaring away in a spiffy airship dreaming of when I can drink champagne and wear corsets again. Happy to announce that little steamling number 2 arrived early but safely on April 12.

Hello again Dr Alice Wolfenden

Just a quick message to send out an announcement.

I recently had a meeting with the Windsor Hotel who have kindly given me permission to conduct a Steampunk photo shoot in their premises on the proviso i give them copies of the photo's to use as promotional material for the hotel of which of course i have agreed to.

You having more years experience in the Steam Punk scene than myself i thought you being the first contact to start arranging possible candidates or interested people in taking part in this exciting shoot would be my best first port of call.

Any thoughts, ideas. possible people who would be interested ?? (yourself?)..

I look forward to hearing from you.

Oh of course, nothing offensive was taken from it, the comment caused me to smile. I am sincerely sorry I did not return a reply. I remember parts of Uni, I spent more time killing braincells than attempting to add to their development.....

Little tackers, Reception (foundation, or what ever you call it up there) to year 2. Tho, happy day! We finally have enough kids that our classes are splitting, and I get year 2's and 3's for the rest of the year. Finally I can teach something that requires a semblence of intelligence to understand. As opposed to spending most of my day saying "this is the letter a. What is it? A. It is in words like ant and apple, and Alice. What is it then?"  Response... "Ummm, t?"

Another teacher to boot! It gets better and better. School or otherwise? I am sneaking off for the weekend, and will try to get all my lessons for the next week done on the plane or something!

If you don't have a photograph for your avatar, or would prefer something a little more cartoony, you can make 3D steampunk avatars at Meez. It's free to sign up and you get free coins in their newsletter, which you can use to buy outfits. There are free outfits you can start off with until you gather some coins. You can also design your own background... with or without TARDIS.

Recent tea-related purchases

Posted on June 18, 2010 at 8:10pm 2 Comments

I recently bought a couple of tea-related products on eBay.

The first was a chance find. It took me a while to find out that it's called a 'tea urn'. Very pretty. It needs a new brass pin to keep the lid on, though, so I haven't tested it yet.

The other…
