Profile Information

Introduction
Good day,
I'm a full bearded, tattooed Bohemian living in the northern rural part of Rhode Island. I've got that elusive looks of a biker, mad scientist and pirate all rolled into one package, if such a hybrid could exist in the 19th century. Nonetheless do not be surprised to encounter me listening to a chamber orchestra or attending museum openings.

In many ways I'm rather medieval, a Luddite of sorts. Machinery vexes me and often won't function properly in my presence. Luckily I am adept at other things, and have been known to trade my brandied fruitcakes or other such items for the services of a blacksmith, tinkerer or mechanical genius.
I'm a vegetarian, an exbeekeeper, gardener, stone wall builder, a novice stone carver, baker, collector of curiosities, artist and a damn good cook.
One of my greatest pleasures is owning a small but wildly eclectic library as there is nothing as intoxicating as reading.

The past few years have been spent undoing years of damage inflicted upon my domIcile in the name of modernization. Indeed my home is not ancient but the interior is substantially 'older' than the exterior. I enjoy deep saturated colors, pre 20th century design, and shamelessly combine items considered of the Arts & Crafts genre, items from the aesthetic period, and things that look medieval, gothic or at least archaic. In this mix you may encounter incongruous textiles ranging from vintage paisleys, tartans, the patterns of William Morris, Vera and marimekko. Generally when I upgrade something here at home, it entails replacing the newer with the older.
I enjoy the woods, ancient stone houses, the quiet sounds of nature, the roar of a good fire in my hearth, hard cider, wearing my boots and watching the snow fall.
Despite appearances I have mastered the use of silverware and if left with no other options can be civil at teatime.
