Thank you Captain. Sorry I haven't been on line much lately but life and work have been particularly demanding of late. I did manage a week of vacation (just got back this past Sat. in fact) in Ormond Beach, Fla.  Made a side trip to St. Augustine, Fla. (about forty miles north) and discovered a fantastic museum of  Victorian period artifacts. Well worth the trip!

Unfortunately, I don't have a car, because I don't have money. I haven't had an income for four years. Apparently my job doesn't deserve payment to do, so I pretty much just have to stick to what I can find lying around. That will take me time because most of my worldly possessions are in storage since I lost my house. I just have to find time to do it when I get the opportunity. I don't suspect I'll have anything completed in the near future, but it's nice to have ideals to work toward.

Bummer... The closest store is 77 miles away. Not doable. I'll have to look through my old leather supplies and see what shakes out.

Oh, Tandy... Now that brings back memories. Are there any of them still open in Michigan?

I think I'll look for a long belt at a secondhand store and then find a way to strap things to it. I wonder how else a steampunk bandolier could be made. I'll also have to find a way to strap things to my hat without damaging the leather. And possibly my boots, too. Hmmm...

My ex-wife is a master seamstress -- she made our wedding outfits (10th-century Byzantine) -- but it's not like I would ever ask her to do anything for me now. I'm trying to convince her to do some work for our daughter, whom I would like to attend events with me, but I won't ask her to make anything for me. I do have access to a sewing machine, but I have no talent for sewing (trust me on this; I've tried). I'll be hitting the thrift stores as I can.

As for persona, I'd like to go for an alchemist/magus-type, but for the time being I think I'll have to let whatever wardrobe I can scrounge up dictate my persona. Your last link had a lot of discussion about glass bottles... I have my fair share of those... I'll have to see how I could incorporate them.

Unfortunately, the majority of your last comment would involve buying things, which would require money, which is something I don't have. I'll keep looking around the house, though. I think I'll even go raid my dad's closet and see if he's got anything interesting... He used to have a lot of ties and cufflinks, but since he's retired he's gotten rid of most, so we'll have to see.
