- An Amalgamation of various alter-egos. Aspiring everything with a penchant for verbosity and strange allusions to weird, eclectic and arcane stuff. Just looking to find more people in my area. I know there are several in Raleigh and Asheville areas. I try to get around in Charlotte, but I'm out in the middle of the state and find it harder to get around sometimes. Just looking for fun things to do and have a chance to unleash my inner steampunk in real life, not just online.

Your idea of pink steam could actually be done. Or at least in its exhaust form as water vapor, since technically, steam is invisible.
I do volunteer work on an old triple-expansion steam engine which propels the last of the old "mosquito fleet" ferries of Puget Sound, WA. So I do know something about mechanical processes in addition to political and psychological ones.
Lots of puns there. We queers often joke about having our own fleet. Ferries/fairies. Plus, the favorite drink of both paleo- and neoVictorians is absinthe, the "green fairy." One type actually is red; the usual addition of water would make it pink, too!
