"I like the idea and I've even thought of using band uniforms as the basis for a military costume, but I don't think this particular one will work for me. It has more of a Buck Rogers sci-fi look than vintage military. Plus, I'd have…"

"I understand. This is why I posted here. Typically the items we sell have to be listed for 7 days with a starting bid of $9.99, but given that these are somewhat unique there is the possibility for arranging different deals if enough…"

"If I were outfitting an airship crew, I think I'd rather pay $5/jacket and get to choose the sizes, rather than have to buy 3 lots at roughly $30, and still not be sure of getting the right sizes. I know that would make your job harder, and…"

Anyone interested in marching band uniforms?

Hey guys, So I'm currently working for Goodwill Industries in their e-Commerce department. Basically when Goodwill recieves weird and potentially valuable items they send them to me to sell online at auction. Well the other day I got this box with 64 marching band jackets in it. They are all brand new, but it's just jackets and I have no idea what to do with them. And then I got to thinking, they could potentially make pretty cool airship tunics or other steampunk type clothes with the right…See More

"I am doing the same thing.  If it is WW1 don't worry about a Nazi appearance.  I am doing somewhat of the same.  You can do this with the pickelhaube helmet and if you want to make the uniform snazzy, you can use the Uhlan tunic…"

David Fischer replied to Andrew John Craven's discussion Are you a Clanker?
"I'm definitely a big fan of Leviathan and Behemoth. I read them pretty recently and immediately knew that I would be incorporating some 'Clanker' styles into my wardrobe. It looks like you are already off to a good start yourself."

"You might also think in terms of military styling without going all the way into uniform - things like well-tailored men's coats, with strong shoulders or epaulets, for example.  Spats or gaiters would also work, and, if paired with a…"

"Some simple things are to wear puttees on your legs or canvas gaiters. Find old military medals, it doesn't matter what era or country really.  These can be added to existing clothing to add a little flair."
