Open the icon file in Preview

Select all and Copy

Then 'right' click on the app in Finder and select 'Get Info'

Click on the picture at the top and the Edit > Paste. Viola! It is done.

If the icon is on the dock; remove it and then put it back to refresh the icon image.

The only one I couldn't change was the Trash icon, not sure why but it just wouldn't take. Anyway, I am very happy with what I have.

Once I figured out how to change them it wasn't all that hard really. It is a little more involved then windows though. The difficult bit was choosing which one to use for some of the programs.
