- Welcome to the "Iron Shark" flagship of the Silverflames. Are we Pirates? WE Are and proud to were our Flaming Blue skull and swords. I am the Navigator and Lady of our not so humble clan. Their are at present 13 of us (and growing). Our not so unlucky number. "Pirate!" Our lovely ship is a very unique type of air ship; both suited to air and sea travel. We strive to always have a good time.
Soft arts are the best expression of my steaminess I can think of. So I'm off to the sewing room again. Making hats and Victorian clothes. Not just for me but for several of my friends and family members who have also discovered their own inner steampunk.

I did it! I did it! I did it!!!!!
I found and bought a vintage (antique) Singer Sphinx Treadle Sewing machine at a garage sale for a song. Got it home and a few hours late couldn't help myself a sat down to start cleaning it up.
The find had been stored in an old barn like garage for years. It was covers in layers upon layers of grim and built up dust and Texas dirt. So poorly was this machine treated that the gears and works would not move for the grim when I bought…

I have discovered a love of creating beautiful hats. And refurbishing Old Ugly hats is the most fun! I look at the shape first then ponder what it should have been. Making it Turn into that beauty from the ugly duckling is so very fun.
Well it's offical! I'm off the charts in the deep end!!

So here it is... Now my definitely not SP boss is now suggesting places I can go to find the parts and pieces for my SP projects.
I started with the obvious places (the hobby and art stores). And am now on to raiding my father's auto shop and visiting the local bike shops for extra parts. The hardware store around the corner now knows me by name. And My mom is refering to me as her little grease monkey ( at 42-- really).

Isn't it marvelous when you realize you have been dabbling in Steampunk, usually preceded by collecting all things Victoriana and a penchant for taking things apart, or putting them back together, and suddenly it all clicks, and here you are?!
