- Greetings ladies and gentlemen! New to everything here, so if I make the occasional social blunder I do apologize. I have worked with metals, woods, and all things mechanical for years, creating all manner of odds and ends with no real point or purpose except to prove that it could be done. I was quite surprised when, while describing some of the projects I've undertaken, a friend said 'Oh, you're a Maker!' I never knew that there were people in the world who saw interest and beauty in the industrial/mechanical/steam powered in the same way that I did. Ever since then I've been hooked.
