"Yes, thanks for posting that Melinda. It helped me too. I knew of the Evergreen group, but I think they were under a different name previously. Mad Hatters/Tea Cozies or something to that effect. Now I can look them up too."
"Hello! I'll be back in Oly this month, some time after the 15th. There is a Tacoma group too. A fellow by the name of Hans Meier. Look at my friends list here on the empire to link to his page. I hope to get some small events up and going…"
"Hi Dee. Pleased to meet you. I am not actually in Oly right now, but will be soon. I have been in China teaching for almost 2 years, but will be home soon enough. Hoping to get back into the local steampunk scene again, and catch up with old…"
"Salutations. I saw your plea for help with regard to being new to steampunk. I suggest you start reading a few steampunk books such as The Difference Engine, The Anubis Gates, or even proto steampunk like Shirlock Holmes or any of Jules Vern's…"
I have been out of the loop for a while teaching and traveling in China. I love the doctors music though and it has sustained me on many a humdrum day. I want to know where I can read more though. Why did he make this choice? What exactly…"
Chanin AKA Dr Maurice Ellenburger, Gentleman Time Traveler.
I belong to an Olympia anime and cosplay club, Olime. We have already done a steampunk photo shoot at the capital campus and legislative building. I highly recommend the location, but fill out an application in advance and no prop weapons aloud.Great brass fixtures though. I build all my own steampunk gadgets such as the time machine, clockwork secret message encoding devices built into hollowed out books. See my pics. I am a science geek/spark in real life. I have done research as an undergrad in Vacuum coating catalyst metals onto carbon fiber for use in manufacturing hydrogen fuel cells. I see renewable energy as a way to tear down class disparity and reduce the need for war. Steampunk appeals to me because the themes resonate with my own values and I love science.
Brightest Blessings on your trip in the Orient and best of luck with your teaching endeavours! I really admire that and would love to hear all about it when you get the chance and I'll make sure to keep you updated on Steamcon II; it won't be the same without you.
Thank you so much, Craig! I was admiring your fantastic steampunk gadgets earlier today, you do wonderul work! If we need something and you're able to build it then perhaps we may take you up on that offer in the future! Thanks so much! CD is still being recorded, but coming soon!
Merci BOOcoup for the kind remarks about my Vampire Surprise video. I will inform Monsieur Seth that he has apparently named his accordion after your grandmother. I am sure he will be quite pleased with himself for this!
