Profile Information

Introduction
Former costumer and continental explorer. Currently embarked on a voyage of re-education in the fine arts. Earns her dosh shoving pixels around at the American Journal of Archaeology. Deeply engrossed in discovering what "Steampunk Music" really means via her Twitter account @DJEthylCannes.

When it comes to Steampunk aesthetics I tend towards a dirty, dystopian, Dickensian slant, with a lot of nodding and cheering for Wild, Wild West style (Charlie Prince in the recent 3:10 to Yuma is my fashion idol!)

I'm also deeply interested in Indian culture (especially South India) and am interested in seeing where this Asian-Steampunk trend is going.

And in case you're wondering why:

that time i mentioned i was moving
and you said you'd help me move
i almost went out and bought some s***
so i'd need your help to move
cause i got a crush on you

remember that Halloween when i went as Jimmy Dean
you were a princess, or a gypsy, or whatever
i was James Dean
and i had a crush on you

i get a yes, a no, a maybe
from the magic 8 ball of your mind
i saw your mom's Camaro
dammit girl you lookin fine
and i got a crush on you

day in, day out, same routine
better know what you think before you say what you mean
same old, same old, season after season
baby you're the kind of thing i do without reason

the sky's an 80 ft. mirror
with a fancy bevelled edge
couldn't make it any clearer
i'm alone on this ledge
just me and my crush on you

teen-age hair-dos, bad leather
mom's apartment, ethyl cans
i wa-wa-wa-wa-wanna
take you to the dance
cause i got a crush on you

some girls make me reach for the bottle
some girls make me reach for the sky
you got me reaching in every direction for
just one good reason why
i gotta have this crush on you

that time i mentioned i was moving
and you said you'd help me move

SP Disney I'd Rather See...

Posted on March 24, 2010 at 8:45pm 0 Comments

I fully admit that the "Mechanical Kingdom" images that have been all the rage the past few days leave me cold. When I told Mr. Cannes about it, he thought I was talking about this other thing from last year instead...

This? This I can get behind:

I especially love him for things like this (PSS Spoilers):

"This is precisely why I’m not surprised by Belle’s resentment at the fate of Lin in PSS. It was, yes, precisely ‘uncalled for’. ‘That Lin should get…
