I'm so excited! We leave at 1pm today. I had to ditch my awesome hotel room at the Hyatt because my roommate lost her financial aid, thus had to pay for college, thus had no money. D: It makes me sad, but I want her to do well in school. It's a bit more important than Dragon*Con (gasp, blasphemy!). I'll be staying with my great aunt again in Alpharetta. Perhaps not. However, it certainly feels like it today! Last night, I was able to book a room in the Hyatt for Dragon*Con! From Thursday - Sunday.

Last year was my first Dragon*Con and I had to stay with my great-aunt and -uncle, which was wonderful and they are wonderful, et cetera. Ridiculously tired all yesterday (well, it's midnight now so I guess it is yesterday even though I'm still thinking of it as "today"). The night before last, I went over to my friend Katherine's house. I'm sure many people on this website know who she is even if they don't exactly know her. She was on the MomoCon flier, has won awards for her costumes, and is gorgeous to boot. Also, she's the only friend I have who is into steampunk. And this summer we get to hang out! Finally! Hello everyone. I already posted my first real steampunk creation: those goggles. They were inspired by a tutorial on instructables (I think) using grill vents and lace. Old prom dresses are occasionally wonderful, aren't they? All those sequins, all that flowery lace, yards of satin or tulle. So much potential in the parts, while the whole is a disgusting mess.
