Fine ladies, I have recently purchased an under-bust corset that is one smaller than it should be ;) I need to add to the modesty panel  to cover another 4" in the back, but I can't figure out what…Continue

Forming a Tighter Union

Greeting Fellow Union Members ~ I'm so pleased to see how many members we have here! It's been several months since I've visited our fair Zeppelin, and had no idea how much we've expanded. It's great to read that several of us attended this year's Symposium, but I can't help to think how much more fun it would've been to know who was going in advance. Having said that, I think it's high time we work together to create and attend meetings and events ourselves! Lady Aubrie and I have been…See More

Introduction
Fine Greetings and Hello to all ye readers. Exploring and expressing the deep connection I feel with the later half of the 1800s is but one of the reasons I'm here.

My persona is Gwynnevier Westinghouse, (fictional) daughter of inventor George Westinghouse. So to as follow in his (and my real-life biological father's) footsteps, I, too, am studying to be an electrical engineer. I have moved from our comfortable home in Pittsburgh further into the Connecticut Western Reserve to study at the Case Institute of Technology, hence the self-applied title of Electrical Engineering Apprentice (EEA).

Miss Westinghouse,

I have occupied my time to date with designing, revising, and re-revising my ensemble for the Symposium. Cameo corsets, hats, and bustle skirts. It is truly enough to make one's head spin!

But I shan't work myself into a frenzy over it :-)
How have you been? What new diversions are occupying your time?
Aleister and I are looking forward to making your acquaintance next month.

Best Regards,

M. Crowe

Miss Westinghouse,

I am fair to bursting with good news! We SHALL attend the Symposium! Alas, We must depart on Saturday afternoon, but we will definitely make an appearance. My Goodness... what to wear? Day Dress? Traveling Garb? A ball gown? I am at a loss! Could you be so kind as to share which type of ensemble you plan to don for this wonderful inaugural event?

Best Regards,

M. Crowe

Miss Westinghouse,

I dearly hope that we shall attend the Symposium. The fact that Cincnnati is hosting such a wondrous event is remarkable!

The challenge is: that weekend is also the first weekend of Jazz Fest in New Orleans. The trip was a Christmas gift for my darling Aleister. Needless to say, we are doing a bit of "negotiating" to move the trip to the Second weekend and also attend the Symposium.

I shall keep you informed of the final decision. The spirits indicate a favorable outcome.

Kind Regards,

M. Crowe

My Dear Miss Westinghouse,

Thank you for accepting my offer of continued friendship. I have not attempted to create a hat as yet. I do, however, have the most wondrous ideas for adornments! Perhaps I shall let your suggestion be my inspiration and finally move from ideas to actual finished product. My plan is to add a crowe (naturally) as well as Aural Receptors (hat pins) and a necromantic snare (a lovely veil) as a way of providing both form and a bit of protection from those beasties able to traverse the veil between worlds.

To respond to your second inquiry... Loveland is a suburb of Cincinnati. My darling Aleister and I repatriated from Italy to this locale a few years ago. The people are kind and welcoming, and the weather is usually within reason...so I believe we may stay for a while.

Kind Regards,

M. Crowe

I had no idea you worked at Lakeview!!  I thought about volunteering there (for tours and such.)  It's all about finding time, though.  Must be an interesting place to work!!

I am impressed that you recognized the Haserot Angel!  I went to see it today after visiting my grands (maternal and paternal grandparents are buried at Lakeview, so I'm there once/twice a month at least!)  Happy New Year's and be blessed!

Thank you kindly! I see that you are interested in belly dancing. I am acquainted with a few belly dancers and I am interested in starting myself. For health and for pleasure. Have you already organized a group yet? If so, any chance there is an opening for a new member?
