Steampunk Zooseum

Posted on June 28, 2013 at 5:30am 23 Comments

So I thought I would put a short story I wrote up here. All credit due to the Contessa of Vintage, whom started a simple discussion topic, entitled "Your Steampunk Zoo." This story popped into my head at the very mention of these words, and I thought I might use it as the first thing I have ever published. Ever. Please critic, applaud, boo, hiss, praise as you wish.…

Sorry for the long delay. I've been investigating the rumors of mastodons and wooly rhinosceros in the Canadian northwest.

A WereLion companion, eh? It could be a bit dicey in the dining car of The Flying Scotsman.

"I'll have a pot of Earl Grey and a plate of biscuits and if you'd be so kind as to bring a saucer of milk and a zebra haunch for my friend here? Thank You"

Greetings James! I have missed many adventures on the Empire last year, but plan to remedy that this new year, and wanted to say hello.... so... hello!

James, my dear friend,

I do hope that you will accept my apologies for my unfortunate lapse, and allow me to wish you a belated congratulations upon your 21 birthday!

I am in no doubt that you found an interesting way in which to celebrate such a momentous occasion, (if you are even able to recollect the event?)

Hopefully we shall be able to raise a glass together in the saloon at some point, and make most merry, without the need of fire, of course.

Always remember that I am ever at your service.

Your humble co-conspirator.

Douglas.
