What does one do when they walk out in what they feel to be their best costume ever, and their partner, who does not "get" steampunk, says "tell me you are not going out in public like that?"Ok,…Continue

I had a dream last night, probably bought on by the book I was reading and the roleplay I am participating in, of being in a room full of people in steampunk attire. I am sure this is a pretty boring…Continue

Mistet Melodrin Arjita Kjaerligh said… I'm fine. I haven't been able to work on it much due to school and tests and what not but its almost summer times so I shall be able to move on with it :D
I've recently started helping out with a preschool music class and whenever we do our notes ((do re mi fa sol la ti do)) backwards insted of 're, do' they say 'play do'. it's adorable.
I've also recently become especially in love with this band called Steam Powered Giraffe. <3
Dr. Alice Wolfenden said… I should point out that my laughter was at your joke, not at the fact that you teach young primary school students. I think early primary school teachers, and early childhood development educators, play an incredibly important role in learning. :-)
Dr. Alice Wolfenden said… Haha! I have a great respect for early primary school teachers. A friend of mine has just started teaching prep, which I'm guessing is the same as foundation (4 and 5 year olds). If it's any consolation, things don't change much by the time students get to first year university. "This is a qualitative research method. It describes such methods as interviews, focus groups and visual diaries. What is it then?" ... "Ummm... an apple?"
Dr. Alice Wolfenden said… University lecturer here. Unfortunately I volunteered for open day at the start of the year and it conflicts with Steamfest, plus my mother-in-law is away at that time and we always schedule our yearly visit to Brisbane to see her. What level do you teach? Primary, secondary or tertiary?
Dr. Alice Wolfenden said… Sadly I won't be able to attend the Steamfest this year due to teaching and family commitments. It's a real shame as I was very much looking forward to it! Hopefully I'll be able to attend the next one. I hope you all have wonderful fun and post lots of photographs for me to be jealous over!
Kind regards,
A
*extends hand* oh yes, that would be lovely!
It is both a wonder and pleasure to meet you, Mr. Murray! And if I may be so bold as to say so, your carefree abandon is most charming! My name is Ginny Darling and this *points to the elephant* is perhaps one of the most wondrous things I have ever seen! Did you create her yourself?
*laughs in delight at the hummingbirds, eyes wide with wonder, then blushes furiously at the close proximity of the stranger* "I do not believe we have been properly introduced, sir, but dare I say I would not forget such an entrance, with or without your name..."
Christine Lane said… of definitely once my supplies come in... my dress is pretty eccentric to begin with, this is just another exploration.
Christine Lane said… Yes, I have a friend in Britain who is somewhat into it; I've always loved Period Dress, Victorian era, etc.
