Steampunk Zooseum

So I thought I would put a short story I wrote up here. All credit due to the Contessa of Vintage, whom started a simple discussion topic, entitled "Your Steampunk Zoo." This story popped into my head at the very mention of these words, and I thought I might use it as the first thing I have ever published. Ever. Please critic, applaud, boo, hiss, praise as you wish.…

To my dear friend,

It has been brought to my attention that you have recently carried out numerous acts of tremendous and selfless bravery. Your actions have raised the esteem in which I hold you.

It is not much, but I have put your name forward as an outstanding recipient of the Royal Society Medal. If you recieve this small geegaw you will become a fellow of the society.

I hope I have not be presumptuous in my act.

I look forward to hearing from you in the not to distant future.

With heartfelt regards

Douglas.

P.S. The cog is looking a bit forlorn at the moment.

Well James Its great to find you here although I haven't been for a while cause i'm going through marriage break up but once i find my feet again i'll jump back in. I'm feeling a little unsettled right now and focusing on my art to keep me sane. I think its wonderful to have met through the love of Steam punk, usually its been because of Star wars or costuming in general. I think your one of the nicest guys i know :). I found it hard to find a connection with others here but it's nice to know another friend is within this universe

It seems, Mr Murray that my weeks of musical entertainment out in the rural countryside failed to clear my vision. I have noted the Add as Friend (giggle), and as you may note, have taken advantage of the clever mechanism and friended you. I hope my vitality returns in the same package as my brains forthwith and I might join in on some of the frivolities this site offers. Heres to a long and joyful friendship. Miss K

Dear Mr Murray,

thank you for your friendship invitation, which I am pleased to accept. I am slowly traversing the many portals of this site. The being lost at times is as much fun as the direct journey.

I look forward to spending more time in 'live' conversation with the delightful people on this site,

Sincere regards,

Miss K
