AnachroCon and New Projects

Posted on April 28, 2010 at 7:37pm 2 Comments

My schooling is finally taking a break (only for a month, I'm afraid), so I now have more time to dedicate to my sewing. I've had the materials to create three gentlemen's waistcoats and two pairs of ladies' bloomers for months now and just haven't had time to make them. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get them done in the break between semesters, as well as do work on some of my own projects.

First up, however, is AnachroCon, which is this weekend, and which I will be sitting two… Continue

New Projects and Steampunk in the Park

Steampunk in the Park ( event page here: ) is swiftly approaching at the end of March. So far, the response has been quite positive and I think we're going to have a nice turnout. My lovely partner, Nigel, will be on hand to take pictures (as well as look ever so snazzy himself) and I'll be bringing plates, cups, utensils and napkins for the food people bring. I'm… Continue

Steampunk in the Park - A Steampunk Picnic, March 27, 2010

For you lovely people in the Atlanta area, consider this your save-the-date for Steampunk in the Park, March 27, 2010. The first annual event of its kind, Steampunk in the Park is a steampunk picnic to be held in Atlanta's Piedmont Park. The event will begin at 2:00 PM and we'll be meeting at the bandstand, near the lake, dressed to the nines in our steampunk finery. This is a potluck picnic, so attendees are requested to bring one or two food or drink items to share. There will be at… Continue

Something for the Gentlemen

Posted on December 27, 2009 at 3:36pm 1 Comment

I had a discussion a few weeks ago with several gentlemen friends about the state of available mens' clothing of a steamy nature. Most of them lamented the fact that they found their options severely limited, and that they wished there was more out there to choose from. I, myself, had noticed a similar lack and had recently realized that I make a remarkable number of waistcoats as part of costume commissions. Thus, it seemed only natural that I should consider making a habit of it, and turning… Continue
