I have finally had a chance to see for myself the kind of people who were responsible for the death of me ma and da. I sent a drawing of the Order’ banner by bird to the village where we took shelter many years ago and the people who were there at the time confirmed that that is the same symbol they saw on the uniforms of those who were last seen heading towards our camp that morning. The birds also tell me it matches what was seen in the forest…

Anyone familiar with Irish family names, will, I am sure, have realized that McCorbie is not a name one will find in any list of Irish surnames. That is because it is a name I took on as a result of events that happened between the time my parents.....well, anyway.... and the time I reached what could be called civilization once more.

For many years I travelled the world, looking for more information about me parents. I often worked as a pilot, navigator or cook on whatever airship I could find in need of services I could provide. If it was headed in a way I wanted ta go I'd e'en o'erlook many tings. Yes, I 'ave sailed with pirates but I 'ave never killed anyone, nicked anything from anyone who di'n't deserve it or tried ta control anyone else.

I be Katrine Malachy McCorbie, a free Irish woman, maker, traveler, wanderer. This be me journal, the telling o' me story.
My parents were traveling tinkers and Ireland was originally our primary roving ground. However, with the adaptations my father made to our wagon we were able to travel aloft and often went far from the shores of our homeland.
